If a person comes here on a Visa and overstays is that illegal? Will they get arrested, face any crime, ect?
Answer:
Yes, an immigrant who comes here on a visa & over-stays is considered "illegal." Most of them though apply for SSN's when they arrive here with the visa and they continue to pay taxes with that valid SSN after their visa has expired. Why in the world would the government send them home? They aren't eligible for unemployment, social security, medicaid, medicare, food stamps, welfare or government subsidised healthcare. It's free money for the government. And before you try to say I don't know what I'm talking about I personally know many of these "illegals" who pay taxes. Those without SSN's can apply for and receive tax id #'s and they pay taxes through those. Am I saying all illegals pay taxes? No. Are you saying all Americans do? Again, the answer is no.
SVEN B....the terrorists aren't getting caught because they are smart enough to know to come here through the Canadian border if they are coming illegally. Sad thing is, most of them are actually here legally. What does that say about our country that we would rather approve visas for those who wish to bomb us but deny visas to those who wish to work? Sad state of the nation.
It depends, if they are from south of the border no problem. European or others big trouble.
don know
i've let u know when china's secret police picks me up
America is known for not exactly enforcing its illegal immigrantion laws. 11 millions people from south of the border cannot be wrong.
Yes, they become illegal the moment their Visa expires. If caught and they haven't been commiting illegal acts they'll just be deported or required to renew their Visa plus fines.
Yes, if they overstay their VISA they are in violation of the law. They could face deportation if found.
Yes.If they get caught,yes also.
they will be deported and have a had time getting back in.
I hope they get deported and is on the next plane, boat or raft out of here. Some of the 9-11 hijackers was here on expired visas
yes, half the illegals here are under that status. as far as enforcing laws i don't see it happening as long as corporations have their say
Yes, It is illegal for someone to overstay their visa.
If found, they will be arrested and than deported back to their country of orgin.
But, so many people overstay that the government has a hard time tracking them down since they can basically disappear.
In fact, most illegals are illegal because of an overstay, NOT because they snuck in.
yes. You can stay as long as you like on a Mastercard or American Express, though.
(where is "here"?)
yes they may be bar for ten years before they can come again you can call immigration at 18003755283 good luck
yes, it is illegal. you would be out of status and in the u.s. illegally. you would face deportation and become ineligible to reenter the united states legally for at least five years.
Yes. After 9/11 they've decided to make a huge deal out of that. Anyone who overstays his or her visa is automatically considered a criminal by our government, and is subject to imprisonment, then deportation and being banned from this country for 10 years. Remember..... our government has to pretend to be "protecting" us and will "criminalise" pretty much anyone so they can appear to be doing a good job. Overstaying your visa gives them a perfect excuse to abuse you. Meanwhile, all the real bad guys never seem to be getting caught; perhaps that's too difficult a task for our government??????
The only way you can get deported if u commited a crime as they call "feloney" but if u don't commit any felonies u may not get depoted, that's so many workers from the South are here..
If they are from South America or if they are Muslim, we do nothing. We have to be politically correct.
Are you single ? you look cute
yes they arfe committing a crime once their visa expires.......and as far as anchor babies.......my husband and i have 2 togather and they didn't make him legal ......i woudl like to get the secret to that.........oh_hell
Figures.
