I doubt it will. I dont think it has anything to do with social values - well not in the way you mention. People are refusing jobs because they know theyll get MORE if they dont have a job! We pay far too much in benefits considering lowers status jobs get less and are expected to live on that. Maybe im cynical but even if these jobs were taken up, it wouldnt change the amount of illegal immigrants. Maybe Im wrong - I dont claim to know much about politics, but this is just my first thought!
the best way to stop immigration is to stop suppressing other countries from developing and stop bombing poor coutries and maintaing poverty there.

The minimum wage brought lots of problems in my opinion, us British don't want to seem to work for £5.35 an hour.
I have to say though, I work with all nationalities and the Polish and the Hungarians work the hardest, while the British are just lazy........
Look at the west indians and asians that were allowed in after the war.... to assist the nation with jobs we didnt want like street cleaning etc

Blacks and browns are a fact of life for all decent nations. A small amount adds good things to the mix. Too many ruin it.
All European nations and the U.S. are taking in way too many immigrants to be able to sustain our current standard of living.
The only sane alternative is to limit immigration , which cannot happen due to political correctness.
So to answer your question, it does not matter what type of job you take, the immigrants do not care. They will come until you make them stop.
There would still be immigrants, as they would still have to leave their countries in search for better life and work conditions, and I think there always are jobs that simply no-one takes if they can avoid it... (and are therefore left to "others")

Ive worked with some eastern Europeans and while they worked 14 hour shifts we could do in 9 hour shift what they stretched out to 14 so some of them are lazy as well. if we didn't mollycoddle junkies lazy twats and the great unwashed maybe we could get them to do the so called unwanted jobs instead of importing a workforce. to all those who think we need the immigrants to do our jobs; just wait till we hit a recession they can go home but we are stuck here and then you will see your so called benefits of a immigrant workforce. it will hapen its just a mater of when
