Expired F-1 Visa but already married.?

Here is the situation. My wife was holding F-1 visa and currently she is on her OPT period. Her OPT expired in October. I am currently waiting for my citizenship is come thru, but my green card has already expired. Right now, she might need to go back to Macau for family emergency for maybe 2 weeks.
I understand that she can apply for a adjustment of status to obtain what they called a Conditional Resident Status and come back to work in the US. But how long that process will take?? She might have to go back in a month or 2.
I am in the US Army and currently deployed to Iraq, is there something that the DOD and USCIS have agreed to experdite this kind of process?

Answer:
you wanna wait until your citizenship comes thru then apply petition. If she travels now, she'll not be able to come back any time soon. The wait time for a visa number if you petition as a PR, is about 5 years.

think about it!
