write your local american consulate a letter of renounciation. should take but a couple of months. don't let the door hit you in the back.
I believe you need to announce your intention (and probably sign something) in front of a consular officer, so you will likely need to go to the embassy. You could call them and ask for details, I am sure they will be very helpful.
