I will be marrying a US citizen and I am a canadian citizen. What is the process to move to the states?
Answer:
Yep, Roland is WRONG. Marriage does NOT make you an automatic citizen.
If you are in the US, that is, you were granted entry and otherwise eligible, you can file for adjustment of status by filing the I-485 as well as the I-130. See http://www.familybasedimmigration.com/fo... for a guide on adjustment of status.
If you are not in the US, then your spouse needs to file the I-130 petition with the service center having jurisdiction over his place of residence. This will lead to the Immigrant Visa once you have an approved I-130. See http://www.familybasedimmigration.com/fo... for a great guide on filing the I-130.
If you wish to obtain a K-3 visa, your spouse needs to also file the I-129F once your spouse receives the receipt (NOA -Notice of Action) for the I-130. See http://www.familybasedimmigration.com/fo... for a guide to filing the I-129F for a spouse.
You will also find various other guides, experiences, numerous resource links, etc. to assist you in this immigration process.
All the best

Roland is wrong. There is paperwork.
Contact the US embassy and get the paperwork regarding marriages.
Your U.S. Citizen fiancee/fiance should file a petition for fiance. He/she should visit your there in Canada. It would be a long process.
Once you get to the USA, you have to file again for Adjustment of Status to become lawful permanent resident. It is a long process and both of you should work on this with lots of understanding and patience..
Go to USCIS site for information on how to apply for petition of fiance.
This site will help you too
