I am a German married to an American. We live in the Middle East and want to relocate to the USA in a couple years. What would you recommend: filing for greend card etc with the US Embassy here (I am going to the US once the year anyway) or wait until we will doing the final move. What's better? What is easier? Would there be any difference regarding the procedere?
Thanks for the answers in advance.
Answer:
You will need to apply for a K-3 visa through the local U.S. Embassy. You will not be allowed to enter the U.S. without it if you are married to a citizen. It may be a lengthy process (depending on the consulate) to obtain the K-3, so be prepared for a wait.
Once you arrive in the U.S., you can then file for your green card.
Best of luck!
I would file with US Embassy - Do the DCF.
Are yuo german, or German citizen of MiddleEastern decent???. If this is the case - Be ready for a long wait, and File them now. It will take 2-3 years to get approved, they will be visiting you and yeah, get on it.
DCF(DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN AND FAMLIES)
I would make plans ahead of time so that you wont be stuck with no where to go if all else fails. Rather be safe of sorry?
