What questions are asked at the interview for a Swedish residency permit?

I am going to apply for a residency permit 'on the grounds of family ties' - actually, I am going to live with my boyfriend in Göteborg.

As part of the application I have to go for an interview at the Swedish embassy (because I am not an EU citizen (I'm Australian)).

Has anyone done or does anyone know anything about what sort of questions they ask at this interview. I'm guessing the interview is to determine whether our relationship is legitimate. But does this mean that I will I need to know the name of all of his childhood pets and his sisters' middle names? Will they ask me to name members of the Swedish royal family? Or will it be simple questions like how long have we been going out etc.

I guess that since I am in a legitimate relationship I shouldn't have to worry, but it doesn't hurt to be prepared. Especially when it comes to dealing with the government.

Any information about this whole process would be greatly appreciated!!

Answer:
income, qualifications, language skills, criminal history, CV references, home life, savings, why you want to go there and what you feel you can offer
why do you want to live in Sweden
What is the sources of your income & how much
Did you commited any crime or charged for any criminal case
what is your ethnic background (with chinese, it coud be difficult)
do you have any relative eho reside in Sweden.
They will probably ask if you like 'the swedish chef' from the muppets, do you like fondue with your porn and can you sing three abba songs.
They will then ask about your background, if you can tie your kangaroo down sport, if you can waltz like mitilda, and whats happening in neighbours.

Try not to be distracted by the fact the people asking the questions will be smoking dope, and be naked, its a test to see if your liberal enough to enter the country.

tell them you love everything swedish, except the vegetable.
Finally let them know that your distant relatives may have started out behind bars before being deported, but your happy working behind them in any number of australian themed pubs and you don't give a xxxx for fosters.
I suppose, you would have to prove your relationship was genuine. But, if you have a Solicitor helping you, ask them. Or maybe go on the Swedish Immigration site, contact your embassy, to see what sort of questions are asked. I would not panic too much, because half the people doing the interview questioning, don't know the answers anyway. Good luck.
