Funny that you ask that...When I was stationed at Ft Bliss in El Paso, TX...I was arrested in Juarez, Mexico (Right across the border) for breaking a beer bottle on the sidewalk...yes breaking a beer bottle...the cops drove me around for four hours until I gave them $20 each...they wanted more, but I told them that was all I had...I failed to mention the $100 in my shoe...I thank my cousin 1SG Morgan for the tip before I went there..and they complain about ICE arresting their citizens for the Felonies they commit...

Yes, but they are less likely to get away with it , oppose to Mexico. There have been cases that Border patrol was bribed in helping people cross our borders illegally.

My husband is a former law enforcement officer, and he says yes they try. His experiences were they tried and then were shocked when they were charged with attempted bribery as well. He said not only at traffic stops, but also during his years as an investigator that many latinos attempted to bribe officers. He found their attempts amusing and never minded the extra paperwork involved in processing the attempted bribery charge in addition to the original complaint.
Well, in this "sanctuary" city, they don't have to. Cops routinely just let illegals go when they are pulled over because they know that they won't get any money out of them. It's true. If the person behind the wheel doesn't speak English, doesn't have license or insurance, etc., it's easier for the cops to just let him go.
It happens here every day. No need for bribes here.
Next time I get pulled over, I'm going to say, "Que? No habla Ingles."
