Why do some people believe ALL immigrants in the UK are entitled to benefits, they are NOT?
All other immigrants have to work and pay taxes just like any other person. My husband works hard and pays his taxes, there are goodness knows how many Brits on benefits, that ironically my 'immigrant' husband is contributing towards.

Totally agree. I am sick of "The Sun" reading dupes of our society who never bother to investigate anything that our corrupt media dishes out.
My only pride in this backward country (UK) is in people who are tolerant and humanistic (the educated, real-world ones). Unfortunately there are so many "True British" twits who need to be deported back to Germany 1939 where their psychology lies. And indeed where a lot of their ancestors came from as illegal immigrants in Dark Age times.
I can't believe the ignorance on this site either. It is obvious that emotional paranoia and an abysmally irresponsible media combined with a, sometimes, pathetic "education" has destroyed the English intellect. The very thing that the British Empire was built on via the Industrial Revolution.
It is all to do with influences. It used to be that Churchill or Shakespeare or Newton were the inspirers.

How do you think the Americans feel or the immigrants for that matter the system works for them not for the people it was created to help.
This should really be a question about equality of conditions and wages. It is equally a myth that british workers are lazy and shiftless and that immigrant labour is out to steal the jobs. We need equality of pay and conditions across the whole of the EEC so that no one group is disadvantaged, or their parent country deprived of their labour. The job should be awarded to the best worker!
it is largely the fault of the press, although there are many who do come and have medical care and benefits given to them freely. It is good to hear some immigrants do work and want an honest life..why should people come and expect medical treatment and housing for free when we've paid National insurance since we left school? So you are saying that if a illegal immigrant collapses in the street he is not going to receive hospital care ? or if he's with his family, the local council/ housing association are not obligated to house them and then put the children through the education system ? These service's all cost the tax payer ! I'm pleased your Husband is working and paying his tax's and i know there are a lot that are, But there are a lot more that aren't as to whether they receive benefits is debatable, there are thing like tax credits and vouchers that are given to them. And yes there are a lot of Brit's getting benefits, one would assume at some stage they have paid tax and National insurance, so they are entitled to claim, be it that some of them do milk the system, but on a one to one basics there are immigrants claiming benefits than the British born and bread. Our government tends to give little away to its own people, but will fall over backwards to please those who come into this country. I do have plenty of immigrant friends who came here to work, they are open with the fact that they did come here to work and make a better life, nothing wrong with that, but even a lot of them are saying "there are too many here now claiming benefits and using our service's without contributing towards it" and from the sounds of it, your Husband is one of them who is happy to work and pay his tax's, fair play to him.

Immigrants are peoople too. If they work hard to do the jobs you are too lazy to do, its your problem, dont blame them.
Should you decide to kick them out of jobs, start with the ones working in nursing homes, the immigrant nurses and doctors, the ones working cleaning toilets, collecting trash and guards. Lets see what you woul do, cry for them to come back of course!
Without immigrants the British economy would collapse as would the Health Service it's about this was acknowledged.
It's the asylum seekers who get peoples backs up, particularly those who are NOT genuine, they are the ones who make the news, but unfortunately all immigrants trend to get lumped with them. I know because I'm an immigrant where I live, but I own my own house, my pension comes from the UK where I paid all my working life into the system.
It's ashame that there is so much ignorance around, there are people that are immigrants that work hard and i'm sure that no-one would really want anyone to suffer from this. I think the problem comes with a lack of information, my cousins an immigration officer and i know that people who come into the country are told exactly what they will recieve in way of benefits. My mom is 62 now and she lost her job 6 months before she was due to retire. It was awful, she had worked since she was 16 full time in factories and our goverment only gave her £53 per week, she didn't even get her morgage paid (she only had 6 mths left on it), she had no advice from anyone and was sent a court date for non-payment of council tax because some idiot hadn't froze it. My mom was so scared we thought we would lose her. People need to get back more if they have paid in more and for some reason this doesn't happen with our goverment. I've never worked choosing to stay at home and look after my children, but i never claimed a penny. You'll always get people that want something for nothing and this has nothing to do with their colour or culture. I just wish we looked after our elders better.
Just for the record my mom did get a job after 2 months working in a busy canteen and mow she gets state pension, which i must admitt is greatly reduced by the fact that she had a small private pension, an extra £20 per week, that she saved over 20years now means that she is £2 over so she won't get help. But at least she gets £130 per week now and a reduction in her council tax.
I agree with you so much, all the ignorant, uneducated, nazis on this site piss me off - these people have just heard about an asylum seeker who may have got help with housing, then automatically equated the benefits received with 'all legal, and illegal immigrants get free housing, no taxes, and free medical care' - IDIOTS !!!
AQs far as I am concerned, immigrants are making Britain great, and multiculuralism and religioius diversity will keep us great.
All of the nazis who say 'get em out' then go and buy a curry, or a chinese, or a kebab for dinner make me sick. As far as I am concerned, the legal immigramts who work for a living are contributing more to Britain than the people on this site who complain all the time...

yes you are right i am a immigrant . i cant get any benefit. child benefit maternity benefit nothing. i get nothing. i work and i pay tax. i am not entitled to receive benefits cause i am immigrant and it says on my visa too that i am not allowed to get benefit.. people just dont know and just talks dont worry about it
