Do I have to retake my shots for my passport?

I was given most of the important shots by the U.S Army in 1979, I have put off traveling because I just didn't feel like going through all of that again. Must I?

Answer:
Vaccinations are not required for a U.S. passport to be issued.
You may need certain vaccination to obtain a visitor visa from a country you wish to visit or they may be recommended as a general precaution before traveling to certain countries.
yes
I just renewed my passport and no shots were required, my cousin never had a passport and she applied for one and she was not given any shots either.
It depends on where you want to go. I would check with your family doctor and see what shots if any are required to go where. Some shots may be life long shots. Like the Hep B ones and so forth.
