Is The uk planning an immigration amnesty? if so when?
People who have been apprehended in this country (or if on the run) for a violent/sexual/drug related/ financial crime should still be deported.
But there needs to be something in place so that whole families cannot just recieve multi room housing.e.g the main bread winner should apply first, sought themselves out with accomodation and a job and then send for the family.

And why would you be so willing to flee, "if things things ever got really bad"? Are you saying that immigrants have a right to come into your country, take your homes, your public money and your jobs so long as they allow you to flee when the going gets tough?? How can one best say this. ok I will just say it. IF we did not have a welfare state do you honestly believe that the immegrants you are so pro would pass through numerous countries and obstacles to get to us.
IF you were living in an oppressed Great Britain under an evil leader and your livelihood were threatened (make the similarity as life is cheap in some places) would you travel thousands of miles to say Australia before claiming asylum. Of course you wouldn't, you would do it in France,or Germany or Holland.
