I know the point you're making. When we say that we want to build a wall on our border, we are told that we just tore down the Berlin wall and now we want to build another here. But their argument is flawed since Germany was torn in 2 by the Berlin wall with Russia controlling the east side and not allowing anyone out even if West Berlin would have accepted them.
A wall along our border would be to protect our own sovereignty from for invasion...which is precisely what is currently occurring.

I'm not illegal, and I don't care what the Berlin wall separated. I want a wall of our own for our own reasons.

I am with YO! on this one, if that is what you are talking about. Why are we putting up a wall? I feel like we are doing the same thing that the Germans had done..You would think we could be more civilized.!!
I agree, I wish that we would build a wall on our southern border. But Mexican officials are already trying to go to the U.N. and get them to stop us in our wall construction. They beleive that the western United States is theirs and are trying to "claim" it back because we "took" it from them. It's called spoils of war, get over it.
The Berlin Wall caused a lot more problems than it solved.
