They say to allow six weeks to get a passport. Can anyone tell me how long it normally takes?
Answer:
Six weeks is about right once I got my paper work in for mine it came in about six weeks, but now you might want to take into account many people need passports to go to canada and mexico so it might take longer:)
6 weeks.
that's about right....................for a few extra $$$$ you can FedEX your papers to & from Chicago, gets it back to you a little faster
I received my passport in 15 days but that in 2002.
about 6 weeks
If you go to your regional passport office, you may be able to get it that same day. I had a friend do this in Connecticut.
When I applied for my passport the old fashioned way 3 years ago, I got it in 2-3 weeks. But, with all the new Homeland Security Regulations, they probably have a ton of applications, so it may take that 6 weeks. Dont forget there is also an expidited service for like $60 + postage. This generally arrives within 2 weeks.
It can actually take up to 9 weeks to get your passport, so you should give yourself at least that much time, if not longer. It took me 9 weeks to get my last passport, and the paper they gave said it might.
Mine took about 4 weeks.
It takes about 6 weeks but it may take a little longer because you now need one to go to puerto rico etc so more people are getting them. Mine took about 7 weeks.
Mine came six days after filed for one.
