As a UK citizen If I give birth while on a tourist visa in the USA, does this entitle me to US citizenship?
Answer:
No and if you are obviously pregnant then the CBP should turn you around at the border and send you back home.
Why would you want to come to a country where the majority of the people think what you are doing (your partnership) is immoral and the government denies you the same rights as your home country?
no, but the child is a citizen by birth.
no! having a baby in our country does not make you a citizen!!!
No. The child will automatically be a citizen of the US. When the child turns 18, he/she will be able to bring you to the US.
So far as I know, it would not in and of itself entitle you to US citizenship. However, your child would be a US citizenship on two counts. First, any child born on US soil is a citizen jus soli (citizen of the soil), regardless of its parents' citizenship. Second, any child of a US citizen (and your partner is a US citizen) is a citizen jus sanguinis (citizen of the blood), regardless of where born. If I were you, I would check the laws in all 50 states because I'm sure there'll be one that recognizes your civil union.
I read Theodore's answer and he doesn't have a clue. Short answer is the baby will be a US citizen, period. If the child is born outside the US It is NOT automatically a US citizen, Those days have passed us by.
