Does racism drive people to SUPPORT illegal immigration?
Answer:
Supporters of illegal aliens seem to ignore that most anti-illegal alien/anti-shamnesty people simply do not care what the nationality of an illegal alien is. I certainly don't. I care about my nation and my people which are other born-citizens, naturalized citizens and legal immigrants. The automatic assumption of pro-illegals that I am racist is preposterous. My circle of friends include blacks, Asians, latinos, a couple of Hispanics (legal immigrants from Spain), other Native Americans and other whites. I'm half of the latter two. As a half-breed, I have faced prejudice, but years ago. I have seen that recede. My youngest son's best friend since they were five is black. It's been a long-time since I've seen a white person cast a strange look at them in public.
As a nation, we have made strides against racism, now illegal alien supporters are stirring up cries of false racism in a situation involving a group composed of many nationalities, and many ethnic backgrounds for they have no other defense for their position. I don't believe it is a motivation to many of them, but an excuse and a tool to use.
Opposition is based on negative effects on our culture, the overburdening of our schools, health care, depression of wages, and the burden placed on law enforcement and our prison system by criminally-minded illegal aliens.
Round up all illegals and kick 'em to the curb.
Not really, I have noticed that more and more minorities like me are beginning to greatly oppose illegal immigration. It is a cover up to me. There has to be at least 20 million or so. I do not believe anything that our government says or does.
The way the heat is building the Gov, better start doing the enforcement soon.
The Hispanics ain't the ones in this forum bashing illegals. Legals are committing crimes too. Right?
That would have nothing to do with racism.
If anything, racism would drive people to reject illegal immigration. That doesn't mean that people who reject illegal immigration are all racists though.
I know for a fact that alot of black folks are angry at their history with whites, therefore it clouds alot of their judgment on illegal immigration. I'm working my hardest to get the message out to them in a way that they can read true facts before they jump on the "whitey is racist" bandwagon. Illegal immigration affects every legal PERSON in America, not just whites. Most non whites need to realize this.
Think about it, Hispanics obviously have Hispanic relatives, so some of those might be illegal. Whose side do you expect them to choose, white America (they're normally anti white, as far as I have seen, anyway), or their own family?
I have no problem with people that immigrate LEGALLY, but they also need to contribute to society by paying INCOME taxes, and not being on welfare, having car insurance, NOT having 12 kids, etc. If they want to come here for a better life, they need to be grateful for that. Learn ENGLISH and quit waving their flag around like their country of origin is the best place on Earth...if that were true, why would they come here?
It's all connected. People who yell racism are the first ones to want our government to give away our language, borders and culture. They usually feel disenfranchised. This of course is nonsense because any one with a sense of right and wrong, who works hard and is bright enough to earn money can do want ever they want, even the illegals. It has nothing to do with race, creed or color.
No. I do not "support illegal immigration" I am American, white, that's what you guys just don't get, I support immigration reform, I support a guest worker program, I supported closing the borders A LONG TIME AGO, they didn't and now we have what we have.. we made our bed. I DO NOT support the nasty racist things said here, and it can be denied at the top of your lungs and it doesn't mean a thing to me, I see it and read it everyday. I don't generalize, I know that posting articles and blaming a whole culture is not the right thing to do. But that is the big key here, the antis just want others to obey laws and the laws of morality, they don't have to make that choice for themselves, they are LEGAL and that makes everything OK...
It seems that way. Every time you let it be known that you are against illegal immigration to another hispanic, they act as if you are just racist. They never look at the fact that illegal immigration is hurting them as well. It may appear racist because 90 something percent are hispanic. If I'm called a racist for being against illegal immigration, then so be it. If the one calling me a racist thinks that, then I really could care less what such a uneducated individual thinks about me.
Some people are probably motivated by racism. And by "probably," I mean "definitely" because I've seen and heard the racism with my own eyes and ears. That's not to say everyone is racist, but there are always going to be wackos in any movement.
I am a minority. My wife is a minority. We both oppose illegal immigration. Our race(s) does not matter. We are of different races/nationalities.
We are both U.S. citizens. I was born here. She is a naturalized citizen..
Americans of all races oppose illegal aliens. It is a weak argument unsupported by FACTS, that is used by those supporting illegal immigration that is a "racial issue".
check my opinion/question
now that you know how i feel
im hispanic and speak only english (well i took german in hghschool you caught me...). I'm a hard tax paying citizen who was born here. i don't support illegal immigration.
Some illegals like to use it as an attempt to excuse there illegal status
It would seem that race / racism is the driving factor behind legals who support illegal immigration. There is no real advantage to them. It drives wages down, increases taxes, crowds cities. It exposes all to the risks of unscreened criminal elements coming into the country undeclared/ unknown.
They deny that a nation has the right and obligation to control it's population. The give no consideration to those of other races and nationalities that wish to immigrate to the US. The do not recognize that it is grossly unfair to those who follow procedure and abide by the law to immigrate.
The only reason to support it is race when you get down to it.
I hope not. I don't know why most people can't seem to realize that illegal aliens are a legal problem not a racial one, also, an economic problem.
