I am on L1 and my wife on L2. She applied for EAD(Employment Authorization Document) on Jan 18th. On March 20th, I recieved an email that the status had changed to "Card Production ordered" and then on March 21st recieved another email stating that the status was "Approval Notice Sent". Now my question is: will the EAD card also be mailed along with the approval notice? What does this mean? Also how many days does it take to recieve the card once it is sent?
Answer:
It means that the USCIS has mailed you the approval notice for the work permit. The EAD card is usually mailed separately from the approval notice, so you will get two documents from the USCIS. One will be the actual card, and the other will be the approval showing the dates of approval. Once the card is sent, it usually arrives within a couple days.
