The minute men have no kind of authority or training, If one ever attempts to stop me or interfere in my free movement in my own country and when I am (out in that neck of the desert ,I am usually hunting,) I would be within my rights to shoot them in self defense. if the national guard or border patrol stopped me ,no problem. That's there job and I would comply with their request.
I am home,!! I have quite a few times faced down armed cattle men who leased grazing land and they tried to limit my access to federal land hunting sites, If I am threatened in any way (I have a right of self defence) I have no problem shooting them or the minute men.

Why not just admit your upset because you and your family can't cross the border whenver you feel like it and belly up to the government feeding trough? Racism?? are you serious? If there where white people sneaking across the border, and only the mexicans were getting arrested, then you might have a case, but they are all mexicans, hence the name "mexico". I doubt that they are all racists. I am sure some are but I suspect that is a minority. I don't even consider Mexicans to be another race but they are another nationality. They weren't when I grew up. What, are they the Indian/white race? It is a violation of law for them to cross illegally and it is not right they should be granted the special privilege of not being prosecuted just so people can pay them lower wages or buy their votes.
The minutemen are average people who are fed up with the problem of immigration in this country. The problem of immigration is not a racial one, but an economic one. Our economy cannot support these people, many of which are either freeloaders or exploiters of a giving free market economy. However, I don't suppose we have enough time to discuss in depth the problems of ILLEGAL immigration. Minutemen are anything but racists as they are simply people who are trying to affect social and political change by making their voices heard. They do not provide racist ideals, but simply a doctrine that calls for a halt to illgeal immigration. I see no fault in that. You, yourself, say that you don't believe that all that are against illegal immigration are racist, however those that actually try to affect change ARE racists in your book? It sounds to me like you are utilizing the left's favorite and most overused tactic: when in doubt, accuse racism!
I haven't seen enough interviews with them to make up my mind. What bothers me is that you have already made up your mind on how you feel about them,and now you are going to make a documentary that proves your point of view. If you are a real documentary film maker you will go at this from a neutral possition then get all the facts before you make up your mind on what they are. The World has enough Micheal Moore wanna be documentary film makers out there, you are obviously a very smart individual so don't be prejudice towards someone that you don't know. That makes you no different then a racist yourself.
I'm fairly certain that the minute men don't *believe* they are racist. They are mainly interested in being pro-American, and in protecting our country in the only way that makes sense to them.
That said? They are protecting America against a threat that is defined by a particular nationality, and many of them--because they are so focused on the threat of illegal immigration--see anyone of Mexican descent and immediately think of them as a possible illegal threat, when those people might have been in the country for generations.
That does make many of the minute men somewhat racist, despite their best efforts. But it doesn't make them blatant racists, like the KKK.
Anyone who believes that someone should be KILLED for violating the law by crossing the border is definitely racist. And sick. The punishment doesn't fit the crime.
I cant answer this question, because I dont know them personally. I doubt you do either so Ill have to assume this "observation", is based on them trying to keep our border secure, keeping illegal Mexicans out. Someone else here said it best. Its the Mexican border, they might find a handful of people from another race, but face it. The majority are Mexicans. This doesn't make the Minutemen racist. If they are on unemployment, then at least its going to someone who is doing something worth while for this country, instead of illegals who are a detriment.
I might watch it but from your statement about trying to stir emotion, makes me think you would twist the truth to stir more emotion. Therefore, I wouldnt take it seriously, or believe anything in it.

THere's journalism and then there is docudrama. Basically docudrama is just junk. Michael Moore is not a journalist. He does not even attempt to create a fair presentation. He takes al the date for his arguements and trash the rest. Your even worse if you don't care about the subject, but plan to make a one sided documentary. YOu should care about integrity. It's one thing to make something that people asay WOW. It something greater to create something that has a greater value.
So if I understand your logic, if you care about this country and you see someone doing something Illegal then your a racist or bigot.

But here are some points to ponder for your documentary.
Do they become minutemen because they are racist or do they become racist because they are minutemen?
What happens to a person when they deal with this day in - day out? When they come face to face with drug smugglers from Mexico on a regular basis. When they hear that there is a reward offered of $10,000 for anyone who kills them.
What happens when 99% of the hassle in your life is from one group of people. Is it racism or just lashing out in self defense?
Are the minutemen saying we should round up legal Mexican-Americans or are the just using the term Mexicans to refer only to the illegals that they come into contact with so often?
It's very easy for someone on the front lines to fall into this kind or trap, and just as easy for someone far removed to sit in judgement.
Yeah I know I can already hear people calling me a racist, but I have put allot of thought into this issue and have already figured out that Americans have a problem with illegals and not with the color of their skin.
