Do you think that if the immigration system was simplified, illegals immigrant would simply come legally?
What I'm suggesting here is that one of the cause of illegal immigration is the system itself.
If we were to simplify it, they would come legally, pay taxes, live "normal" life and becomes fully integrated members of our society.
What are the reasons from preventing people to easily immigrate? Racism? Fear of competition (jobs)? Please explain your opinion.

Man, US Cannot accomodate all third world people that want to live here. ll coountries have immigration laws - allowing in only those people hthat are needed for some reason. THere is no reason to ionvite uneducated illiterate people with 3rd world standards. By the same token you can just move to Mexico - It will be like that in no time if laws were simplified.
Problem with illegals, besides them being illegal is that they ae NOT NEEDED in US, They take more money from goverment then contribute back (Even being in illegal status and being ineligible for veriety fof rpograms).
Its not the process, its ELIGIBILITY. They are not ELIGIBLE, They are not NEEDED..
For example PhD in Computer science?Physics is needed and can immigrate and does so legally. Because he will benefit nation a lot.

Just how much of the 3rd World do you figure we can take before we become just like the 3rd World? If we make it "easy" just how many people do you think would come here?
If it were easy we'd have the population of China, that's the reason.
You also got to understand that many of them don't come here to become U.S. citizens, many come here just so they can get a job and send money back home, many of them care less about America.
Poor people can't pay enough money in taxes to pay for the $10,000 per year PER CHILD it costs to educate children in California, for example, much less for other services poor people use. We subsidize services for our poor people and for those we legally 'invite'. That makes it a good deal for the poor people here, but it is at our expense, particularly if they come in large numbers greater than our schools and hospitals, etc., are set up to serve.
That is why every country in the world has limits on how many poor people can come, regardless of security issues. Their better life is at our expense. Moreover, the numbers we have been getting has ruined our schools, and given that their children are deemed citizens, that growth is then projected exponentially into the future, even if no more immigrants, legal or illegal, ever came at all. Our children's education is their future, and this situation is intollerable.
If taxing them were enough to pay for the services they use, (and if money translated instantly into available schools space and trained teachers) their own countries would provide these services, and tax them.
There are good reasons for our limits, which need to be enforced. In fact, the family preference should be eliminated beyond spouse and minor children, so that others would need to apply and be evaluated, separately. As it is, too much of our immigration is based on how much of an immigrant's extended family wants to come, and too little is based on skills they might have that would benefit our country. Doing that would free up a lot of visas to give to others who don't happen to have a non-nuclear relative here.
One reason might be sucurity, in todays world we have got to know who is coming here, and why, and it takes time and money todo a good backround check. And if they can not pass one, we do not really want them any way. And then there's health, we must know their health backround also. And lastly, we have got to have a limit on how many from any one country in a year, or soon we'll have more coming from one country, and our forefathers wanted a mix. We need to keep in mind also that we can not take care of the worlds poor, the home countrys must start careing for their own poor.
Of course it would be better if they simplified our system. What I think, though, is there has to be some way to track the ones that don't get their citizenship/residency. Those are probably the ones that won't give the US their allegiance. As for the US becoming 3rd world countries, believe me, you don't need illegal immigrants to do that.. The republicans in office are doing a great job already..
Maybe it's just me....but it seems in many questions, people have the idea that getting citizenship is a done deal even when you go about it legally. It's not. They can still say NO. Even after they've got all your money, even after you've been here years, etc. It seems that too many of the illegals know they wouldn't be accepted and it wouldn't matter if it was made easier or not. They just don't care what the law is.
We cannot take every person that wants to come here. We do not have infinate space and infinate resourses to sustain every person that wants to come here. We do not NEED all these people.

I doubt that most would come legally.
I do think it needs to be simplified. However, this will not stop illegal immigration. I'm sure it would be easier to live in US as legal citizens, but we can't take everyone. So we will always have illegals. I don't think it's fair though that we seem to give preferential treatment to illegals from certain parts of the world than we do to others. I find it odd that we will give amnesty to Cuban immigrants once they hit our soil, but we will send African women who are trying to escape gender mutilation, which can kill, back to their home countries where they most definitely will be harmed.
Having been born in the U.S. I do not have any experience in dealing with the process of imigration, so I cannot address the specifics of the process. In general, if there is something that must be checked out to protect the health and welfare of the citizens of the U.S., and that takes time, then do it. If there are areas that are antiquated or outdated, then yes, revamp them.
In the past year in Los Angeles, they set up an airplane hangar to use as quarantine for an entire jet airliner in the event that someone onboard might be discovered to carry the Bird Flu. If we have to be that concerned about people on jet planes bringing disease into the U.S., shouldn't we be just as concerned about those who may bring some disease across the border, any border, on foot?
Do I think they would simply come legally? Some probably would, others don't want to be known and they will continue to "fly under the radar".
An interesting side note: In California, where we have terrible traffic problems on a daily basis, an interesting thing happened recently. The "un-documented, guest workers" were upset at the way our laws treat them so they decided to show everyone. They called for a day of boycot when none of them would go anywhere or do anything. Traffic that day was clear in all directions all day long!

Easy, the 'One World Order' government.
'They' are in the business of making people fight each other and things as complex as possible.
Make it simple? 'They' will respond by making the government who making it simple into a pariah state and needed reform, its leader will be labeled as dictator while its government would be labeled as corrupt.
If the USA try it, it will be labeled as a third world country by 'them'. Every hard to control country will become a third world country, since a third world country is a country that is hard to be controlled.
A regular government without outside interference from 'One World Order' government actually have simple rules for immigrants:
- you notify us about your presence
- you give us tribute
- you don't make trouble for us
That's it, and that's what happened in the past. No legal or illegal immigrants, just newly arrived people. If a person don't notify, if he/she was found later on, he/she will be ask for a tribute.
Fortunately, it's still happening today. People pay 'tribute' to officials to register them 'officially' and the same time lay low profile, there's a name for these people, 'illegal immigrants'.
The 'One World Order' government know these things happened and allowed them to happen ('they' even make it easy), since immigrants are needed and 'they' need to make people fight each other using the 'legal immigrants and illegal immigrants' issue.
