What is your opinion on the u.s. allowing Afghan and Iraqi citizens to emigrate to the u.s.?
Answer:
My initial reaction is that these Afghan and Iraqi citizens have served our country and therefore deserve the opportunity to emigrate to the US. However, if they do emigrate here I think they may find the US to be a cruel and suspicious place given the past, current, and future circumstances of tensions between Muslims and Western society. I'm not saying most Americans are close-minded Muslim haters. I'm just saying, and let's face it, there are Americans that don't like Muslims and at some point or another, it wouldn't suprise me if those who emigrated here felt their hate. Some Americans would thank these people for their service to America. I fear that some of these people may come to despise the US and therefore become a potential security threat. Reluctantly and with feelings of shame, assuming that they are honestly helping our troops, I am not in favor of allowing these people to emigrate to the US. Telling these people that they will be rewarded with a chance to emigrate to the US for serving the US in Afganistan and Iraq is in a sense telling them that we are not confident or capable of making their countries a better place to live.
I'm all for it as long as they have gone through the proper background screening and are qualified to become productive workers or entrepreneurs.
I do not want them here.. A huge amount of Muslims migrating to America.. Sure, let's let down our guard and lay belly up. This has to be one of the most absurd ideas I have heard!
Muslim extremists are persecuting their own people - especially Christians, they hate Western civilization more than anything, obviously bringing them here will be a great danger to the American people! We are a nation founded on Christian principles.
No offense, but I'd like to see your link - where did you find this information?

War has been declared on Christians, Jews, non-Muslims and secularists worldwide by Islamic extremists...simply because we are infidels according to their belief. As Islamic fundamentalism spreads its tentacles worldwide, it is crucial for the people of the Western world to understand the danger, know what to expect, and know what to do about it.
They'll never assimilate. Their children will attack us.
i dont want them here..just as they dont want us there.
Don't want them, can't trust them.
My first thought was well they helped us they deserve consideration.
Then my second thought was it is too bad our government has to be some what responsible to the bleeding hearts; otherwise we could make them kill a couple of prisoners that we have who are known terrorists. Then I realized that won't work because they believe that killing or dying for their cause is noble.
So my third thought is no way, you are right, we would have no realistic way of protecting ourselves if we give them a pass into our country. We are at war with their home country, keep them there and get some use out of them.
Here on the immigration boards we have seen plenty of people who claim to want to come here for the better life, but in the long run show their loyalty to their race and country of origin. We should not bring in people like that ourselves, there are enough sneaking in already.
We should worry more about the bearded ones in Mosques in our own country than a few translaters trying to emigrate
You can bet there is very extensive background check before this happens.
I think that as long as the US does a good backround check, there should be no problem. Many Iraqi Citizens fear their own government and military. Im sure that the interpeters put their own life on the line to be helping out the US. So its a good way to say thank you... (I've been to Iraq)
I am against it. So many Americans, including our president, seem to have forgotten that we are in a war against Muslim fanatics. It just makes no sense to allow any more Muslims into our country until this conflict is over. Muslims have a very difficult time living with people of other faiths. They cause trouble in every country that they live in where they are a substantial minority.
We have killed many people in both countries, and these people never forget. As someone else has stated, the children of these people could become radicalized and declare Jihad against the US.
I'm not sure how I feel. I tend not to trust them, their culture is so far away from ours. I think their women, brainwashed from birth, are treated heinously and I would not want to be neighbors with goat killing, turban wearing Muslims. I also worry about the terrorist situation as some are so radical they would do anything to get here to do their damage. I don't think we should burden our assistance programs or our employment situation as we have soldiers that are going to need jobs and they should come first. We've taken care of the world long enough. I may be small minded when it comes to this but I do have serious doubts about them.
So we bought their "loyalty" with jobs in Iraq and Afghanistan?
I thought the point of the Iraqi War was to "liberate" their people, not transplant them.
I think the risk outweighs the benefits. Hmm..as I see it, the benefit would be to the transplants, not Americans. Why would they need public assistance anyway? If being paid now for working as interpretors, they can save up for their expenses here.
Charity should begin at home.
Our security should take preference.
Well now you do not want them in your country, do you really believe iraqi and afghan citizens wanted your troops in their countries?
Typical arrogant gringos, you make the mess do not want to carry with the consecuenses, at the end all of you have a big mouth to talk against the immigration of those people who could be in danger for serving and helping YOUR troops, but do not said a damm thing when you are the invaders, bombing their homes, killing their children, torturing innocents just because they are Muslims.
You are talking such a trash, the children will attack you? ha! YOU and YOUR government had invaded and bombed their homes! and for what? just for oil ! but about this point you all do not say anything, of course not, you'd rather to talk about matters you have no knowledge just to try to hide the truth of the crimes of your nation. Lie your selves if you want you do not fool de world anymore.
Thanks God I do not live in your country, thanks God I am not american, so much hypocrecy makes me sick.
I don't want them here in the US. They could be terrorists and then for sure The United States would be in big trouble! I don't trust them at all! Just like we don't want illegals Mexicans here ! Let them stay where they belong NOT IN OUR GREAT USA!! I say Hell NO
