I'd like to move to the UK, holding Ukrainian passport, how can I?

I've been to the UK last year and loved so much that I'd like to live there. I'm currently in South Africa but still hold the Ukrainian passport. I've got a few qualifications but generally work as a translator (Russian, Spanish, English) How can I get a legal permit to stay in the UK? Thanks everybody :-)

Answer:
UK definitely is a fantastic place, people just fall in love with it after visiting. Well even I just loved being there last year. Now, for your question, the ways by which you can settle in UK. Remember settling in places like UK is not simple and also understand that nothing comes easily in life, be prepared for some initial struggle. Everyone has to go through this.

Its very good that you have already visited UK and have record of travel and return, now your re-application for UK Visitor Visa becomes easy. This is your first way of settlement in UK. You can re-apply for a visitor visa for a longer period. Once a longer duration visitor visa is issued, which is normally 1 year. Travel back to UK as a visitor with a well-thought of plan for accomodation, employment, education, settlement basically.

In case of employment prospects, before leaving to UK, find out about lawyers who can help you change your visa status from within UK or else look out for recruitment agencies or websites that can help you find employment in UK. These agencies charge a fee so its better to apply for jobs yourself online to various companies, UK online newspaper ads, recruitment agencies in UK etc. Also, take help from your relatives or friends if any in UK to find suitable work for you. A small level job should also be accepted if an offer comes. Your job as a translator is quite good, I think you should try applying to Language Institutes in UK or legal offices for govt. services or law where your known languages are required. Also try applying to different countries embassies in UK where your known languages are required.

The second way of settlement is the student visa category. This is a lenghty process and involves proof of availability of sufficient funds to cover cost of education and living in UK. This visa application is normally done outside UK from the country of nationality or residence but nowadays its being done from within UK also. Visitors travelling to UK find certain university or college executives who help you change your visa from visitor to student from within UK. They charge extensively for this work. (Mail me if you need further details on this visa process).

The third way is marriage to a UK National or UK Resident. These marriages are real or fake depending on the spouse you find. If you find a genuine husband, well and good, if not then there are many UK Nationals or UK Residents who marry visitors and help them get permanent residency (this is normally referred to as paper marriage). They charge some amount for this service and properly explain to you how this process has to be done and how to stay in UK after this kind of marriage is done. Certain care has to be taken from the UK Home Office Investigators after doing a paper marrige.

The fourth way is the most difficult and normally not advisable. This is the refugee visa category or asylum. This is the most complicated way so I better not give out any details about it.

Hope things work out for you, All the best for your future!!
Marry.
You won't get a residency based on employment - it's too expensive and complicated for employers.
