What do you think of this point of view for immigration reform?

Answer:
Really, we should focus on those that are here illegally. Why do they deserve SSI or any other gov't benefit when they're not paying into our system. They're coming here and having children who end up on medicaid and not paying a cent toward that. Granting illegal immigrants amnesty is the fast track to welfare bankruptcy because many of them will qualify now that they're legal citizens. We cannot afford to solve the unemployment issues of the world (Coneheads movie).

Employers who hire illegal immigrants should be put in prison, it's crime and they're coming here because they can find work.

Our society is too busy catering to those that don't even speak the same language as us. Why did I have to take the time out of my life and pay money to learn Spanish when somone who can take English classes for free can't even be bothered to do that? The hospital I work at is estimating that they'll have to write off 50 million dollars, mostly due to illegal immigurnts who seek help and never pay.

I'm not agianst someone looking for a better life, but it's getting out of hand. If we don't secure our borders it won't be people of mexican descent, we'll have to worry about terrorists. The amount of illegal immigrunts in the US is embarrassing, it's a big flag saying "enter here" to those that want to destory our way of life.

Don't mistake me for a racist, I have no problem with somone because of their race, color of their skin.
Enforce our current laws! Seal the border! Jail employers to dry up the job market!!

NO AMNESTY!!!
Sad reality. And it's only gonna get worse if amnesty passes.
I think the solution to the immigration problem is simple: make it EASY to get all of the employees you need through a legal process that costs some fees and requires some taxes on the workers, then impose a HUGE fine and jail time on empoyers who hire illegally. I think you will see lots of illegals turn around and become legal guest workers.
Accurate - The same sort of cr*p going on in Arizona now too.
Well, I'm for anything that gets the job done. No more uninvited country crashers!
Did racists during the civil rights movement write letters with words all in capital letters and use exclamation points with abandon?
Enforcement of our present Laws , no Amnesty , fine the
Employers.
It seems like the article is less focused on all the ills - real and perceived - from the influx of illegal aliens, and more addressing the organized criminal gangs with roots in Mexico and Central America. It does not really say much about amnesty for the aliens already here, except to say that lawmakers are bogged down "myopically" trying to pass comprehensive reform when they should just enforce the borders now, and then hack out the details. Also it says many of the gangsters are illegals (which makes sense..since they are criminals they can't just waltz in legally).

I am not a detective but my guess is, we should want to work more closely w/ those countries to try and eradicate the gangs based in their countries but w/ branches in ours. Also, giving legal status to the illegal aliens already here might make it easier to infiltrate the gangs, since informants would not worry about getting deported themselves. I don't think deporting everyone will fix the problem of these gangs... imo if the aim is to dismantle the narco gangs, they should really focus their efforts on that. If they just do a half-assed measure to deport everyone, the narcos will be the first ones to come right back, and the fruit-pickers and floor-moppers will be stuck back in Zacatecas. The narco gangs have very sophisticated political networks and control the trafficking routes...there is a narcocorrido about one kingpin who was so in bed with some local cops, they drove him across the border in their cop car, like a nice taxpayer-funded narco taxi ride.

p.s. I agree with the article.
