ya that isn't going to happen. I'm with you. but I think its wishful thinking.
You are aware of the limited methods correct? You can't just go apply for citizenship and pledge your allegiance, take american history courses. The legal system has set it up so that you have few methods.
You have marriage that could be a complete sham and getting sponsered by your employer (verrry difficult) and they have the if you are in the military you can gain citizenship especially if you are fighting the war. If there are other methods, list them because this seems to be the only options to becoming a legal citizen.
Sometimes I ask myself what I would do if I were in other people's shoes? I think our invention of countries (my country) and map-drawn borders (a recent historical invention) is losing its usefulness. Creating countries was useful in order to divide up the earth between European and U.S. colonizers. But colonialism through drawing lines on maps for the sake of claiming other people's resources and labor is no longer necessary. For example, we have transnational corporations now who have no allegiance to any particular country and whose 'bottom line' priorities help to disenfranchise people from their life-ways and land.
Disenfranchised people come to places where they can find hope for a better future. Consider what you might do if your family was in difficulty or your choices for life were poor? If we felt as though the world was 'my' world, we might be more apt to consider equitability and fairness as important throughout. People might have fewer reasons to want to get into 'my' country to have a better life.

I don't have an answer for you, since you didn't really ask a question, but just to correct you, the United States is not even close to the country with the highest net migration rate. That would be Afghanistan. The United States ranks 25th in the world, while Canada is 14th, Ireland 17th, etc.
