What does it take to get an immagrants papers after marriage??

Me and my boyfriend have been dating for 2 yrs. He is an immagrant. I want to help him get his papers. We knw we have to get married. What is tha process we must go through??

Answer:
If he's an immigrant then he already has his papers.

I think you mean he's an illegal alien. If that's the case he has to leave the country and go back home. You then can petition him as your fiance.
im not sure the process but i know for sure he has to be married a year to you and then fill out a bunch of paperwork. if you call the marriage license people (look in phone book) they will tell you
JUSTY TYPE MARRIAGE WITH A ----- WHATEVER NATIONALITY YOU WILL FIND LOTS OF ANSWERS,ALSO MARRIAGES UNDER VISAS
If he came in the country illegal You cant do it unless he goes back to his native country, However if he came legally maybe 2 years after marriage but u have to show plenty of evidence that its not an arranged marriage.
No process! in my understanding in your question, he is already an immigrant, therefore his papers is good and you can marry him anytime you want, it will not affect his papers.
Go to www.uscis.gov and you can download all types of forms.
I just recently helped my brother with his paperwork last year. but in his situation, he's a U.S. citizen and his girlfriend was in mexico. He first filed a I-129F (Petition for a Fiance) along with a $170 check. When the petition was approved, it takes around six months, she received a packet of everything she was going to need for her appointment at the consolate in Juarez Chihuahua Mexico. At her appoitment she was issued a visa to cross the border (you can only use it once). Once she entered the U.S., they had 90 days to get married thru court, (for immigration what matters is the wedding thru court and not by church) After that they need to provide a copy of their marriage certificate, they're still in the process of doing that, her permanenet residence status is still pending.
First of all, is he here illegaly? if so then I would advice to get an attorney, not a notary, one that specializes in immigration law, I think you can find a list on the website. But if he's here with a visa, i think you can get married and after you get your certificate you can file the form, petition for a family member, read the instructions on the website and if you can do it on your own don't hire an attorney, unless he's illegal. These forms are easy to fill and make sure you keep copies of all the forms you filled and sent.
Hope this helps.
If either one of you is an illegal alien, you have to go back to your home country to start the paperwork. You can't be illegally here!
