As of around 1982 the United States no longer accepts the premise of "Dual Citizenship"--though another country may. You may say that you never formally renounced your other Citizenship--- It's automatic in the eyes of the United States.
Nope sorry The Indian govenment does not allow you to have a passport if you renounce citizenship.
You go to the Indian Embassy and apply for a dual citizenship passport. The charges is $300 and you are issued an Indian passport as well as you can retain your US passport.

Regarding prior answers: there is no such thing as a "dual citizenship passport" and the US does not forbid dual citizenship.

If you are naturalized as a US citizen, you will lose your Indian citizenship: that is Indian law.
