If an illegal immigrant is caught but refuses to tell the authorities their home country, what will happen ?

Where can they be deported to ?

Answer:
This is rare cos we normally get something on them but where it does happen they get served with papers and then.the whole process fizzles out. Happily very very few are clever enough to cotton onto this.

Sadly Jamie (above) imagines the world I would LIKE to work in - not the one I do work in.
They do DNA tests to determine ethnicity.
Gitmo would be a good place for him.
Unfortunately we can't torture them - The US doesn't torture people (yeah right).. so I bet we will send you to another country that's a friend of ours where they do torture people. They I bet they could get where you are from. HA!
Guantanamo Bay
They will be sent to slough.
they will be given a 4 bedroomed house, 2 cars n £500 a week.
The government is capable of amazing things you think possible only on TV. He or she would be held in a jail cell until they can get an idea of where to send them. It might take some time, but they will likely find out on their own if the person is not cooperating. They will not just "give up" and let the person stay.
Send them to FRANCE!
Very few illegal immigrants get deported from UK. Reason behind this is because most of them are working and paying tax.

You do not need to be a UK citizen to get a National Insurance Number. Since most employers in the lower paid sector are only interested in a person's ability to pay NI and tax, they and the UK.gov both, turn a blind eye.

Take for example the picking of fruit and vegetables. Most people in UK seem blissfully unaware of the fact that these crops, mostly labour intensive, have for generations been picked by cheap imported labour.

It's by no means a new phenomenon. The story of the drowned Chinese cockle pickers at Morcame Bay highlighted what is in effect a wide spread practise.

Like one American said to me once. "Britain is an island, how come you don't know who's landed?" The plain answer to that question is that we don't know and probably don't care either. At least to be totally honest, I really do not give a damn, so long as fruit and veg are reasonably priced in the shops.

Look at it from another angle. Everyone knows that people are now living much longer and we have an ageing population. I'm one of them, a pensioner. My pension fund manager wants to know when I'm going to die because I've been drawing my pension since 1991. Not yet mate.

How to deal with this growing problem? Import more workers who will pay tax and insurance etc. Problem solved, in the short term anyway.

No matter what, every UK.gov will be faced with the same set of problems. Who's going to pick the strawberries, a back busting job and who's going to pick the spuds? An even more back busting job.

Any volunteers?

Edit: On the spuds front, the British are eating about eight thousand tons of spuds an hour. No wonder we're fat.
Hopefully to Iraq so our soldiers can use them as human shields afterall illegials are expendable.

they send them to prisions, but much nicer ones and usually after seeing jail they speak up if not they do a DNA test or contact other experts to determine what country their from.
in the UK (where I live) the authorities will probably continue to question them for a day or so then let them go and give them a house, car and benefits. In a properly run country they would go to have a polite chat over coffee with some nice green-uniformed gentlemen at Dzerzhinsky square to determine their country of origin, before being returned there post haste
If someone arrives at an airport having destroyed theie passport, they go to prison, so normally arrivals will have some kind of documentation indicating at least where they have flown from and what passport they had (although the passport may not be genuine).

Apart from people that refuse to co-operate, there are also people who are stateless: they were tolerated living in some country, but never given citizenship. This applies for example to all people in Kuwait whose families were not there in 1932, even if they were born there. There are many people who cannot be returned. For example, the Israelis don't generally cooperate in accepting back Palestinians resident in Israel or the Occupied Territories. So the reality is that a good percentage of people can not be returned, sometimes even if they co-operate. There have been cases of people flown back halfway around the world, refused entry, and brought back again. Bureaucracy rules OK!

Asylum-seekers, if they have come via another "safe" country, in Europe for example, will be returned to the first such country they passed through.
that's a good question, i think their country is eventually found somehow
just shoot them
Be very worried, they will find out where you come from, but first you will be stuck in jail, and subjected to some pretty nasty things by other inmates, you would wish to your god that you had never come to Britain.
