Not a single person on this site has gotten this question right...and it makes me wonder why so many people go around whining about mexico when they clearly don't even know basic facts!!
OF COURSE YOU NEED A VISA!! does that makes sense to allow someone into your country with absolutely NO documentation?? why would we complain that everyone needs to be documented in the US if we don't expect it in other places.
the visa is a 4x15in slip of carbon paper. it costs $17 USD at the border, or if you fly, it's included in your plane ticket and you fill it out shortly before landing. you must bring valid ID and your birth certificate, OR a valid passport. if you are flying, you must have a passport starting 1/28 according to new US laws.
