I just found out that my mother married for the USA papers; can I get in trouble if I know about it?
Her immigration lawyer knows about it, and they don’t even live in the same state (as a matter of fact, he lives with his g-friend & my mom with her b-friend)
What can happen if they get caught ?
What happens to the witnesses ? (not me)
Answer:
it's illegal and its surprising they haven't got caught as there are usually home visits done by immigration agents as part of the citizenship process. i have no doubt the lawyer knows, they are not the types to actually uphold the laws, they are trained to skirt around them. i don't think you can actually get in trouble but if they are caught then they can go to jail for fraud and be deported which will affect you in some way. you can bet the lawyer will say they had no idea. whoever said coming here illegally didn't hurt anyone, you are worried and scared, your mom is making you part of a criminal act and you both are living a lie. good luck, i hope it all works out for you.
Are you a citizen? Are you under-age?
lol I cant believe ur asking this question...hm..
You've commited no crime, you're okay.
They go to jail.
Nothing will happen. Just keep it mum, and everything will be fine.
IF YOU DONT SAY ANYTHING, NO ONE WILL KNOW.
Call the NIS, they can answer your questions. Be sure to provide them with good contact information.
She could get deported but probbly won't. Too many illegals here to worry about one more. No problem as a witness or you. Lawyer could have trouble with the BAR if it became well known.
Why would you get in trouble? She is the one that broke the law.not you.
No you can't. But she can and will. Now that you let that cat out of the bag it won't be long and an Immigration agent will be knocking on her door. Don't you realize this fourm is watched? Your mom did the wrong thing. Even if it was for the right reason it is still wrong.
most likely nobody is going to do anything about, i would worry too much, but she could get in trouble but you wont
I don't think you have any thing to worry about. It is your moms problem. If they get caught,It is fraud. They may throw out her papers. She has a lawyer, let him worry about it that's why they are paying him.
They can be deported but it's rarely enforced. Hopefully you have some relatives that are citizens that can keep an eye out for you.
Do you have legal papers--were your born in the US? if so you're okay--otherwise--I really can't say-- I know if you marry someone you will naturally become a citizen of the US--well, do you go to schools in the US? do you have US insurance? if so, I'd say you're okay.
Ugh! This is why I hate lawyers! Filthy little bloodsucking ticks.
Unfortunately, it is very illegal. Immigration fraud is taken very seriously. Your mom could even be deported if anyone found out. She could also be fined an exorbitant amount of money if caught.
Just make sure if she gets caught that she rats out that scumbag of a lawyer too.
Just being married does not naturally make you a citizen. They will have to go to an interview together and will be denied if the interviewer thinks it is false.
You just reported a crime.
You Havent done anything wrong. But just dont say nothing. If you love your mother and dont wanna see her leave or go to jail. i also heard that if an illegal person marry's a citizen here in the U.S they have people investigate if the marriage is real!! lol. omg you better not say nothing lol. It sound like a crime. But if you have nothing to do with it. then keep it that way!!
If you are a US citizen nothing should happen to you. If your mother's paper work is in process then she is the one that can get it cancelled and she can get deported.
Deportation, real quick.. I am afraid for you also if you are here illegally.
