A question for everybody on illegal immigration?
I am a Liberal.I have been all my life,and don't see that changing.
But I cannot fathom why anybody who really cares about this country can really think that illegal immigrants are a good thing.
They have bankrupted the public health care system,thereby raising the cost of health care to the point that average and low income Americans cannot,in any way shape or form,afford decent medical care.They have overrun the social services in almost every state of the union,causing assistance to low income Americans to be drastically cut.The school systems everywhere are beyond redemption,out of funds and forced to spend money they don't have to teach children that cannot speak english.
And as for the old saw that they do jobs that Americans won't do the fact is they undercut American wages,making these jobs impossible for Americans to do,if they want to have any kind of decent life,that is.

I am a legal immigrant. I obeyed and obey still all the rules of the country including not working for 2 years. I presented all my papers to get my driver's license and bank account. It was frustrating, the waiting the fees but it is rewarding that nobody can say to me that I am an illegal.
Illegals are criminals by nature, they sneak into the country and steal jobs, they live as parasites in the USA. Illegals are a plague.
No amnesty.
I think the same way you do. But I have begun to think it is a losing battle. Now Bush has lifted the ban on trucks coming in from down there. I hate to think of the repercussions from that.
I totally agree with you. It pis*es me off that my hard earn money is supporting their butts. Then it piss*es me off more, when they get caught, some have a chance to become legal citizens if they have family here.
It's obvious that they don't respect our country and laws if they can't come here legal.
I don't care if people from other countries want to live here and have better lives, but do it legally.
Government needs to deport any and every illegal they find here. Too damn bad if they have family or if they're married. Tough!
I feel that the wrong priorities are being assigned to this old problem - again.
The first thing our government needs to do - above and beyond anything else - is to establish firm control of our borders.
Then, and only then, should we allow our government to consider any changes to existing laws.
Gain control of the monster - then decide what to do with it........
Our politicians failed to do this the last time and that is why we are facing this dilemma again.
When are they going to do it right - every twenty years????????
ILLEGAL alien criminals steal citizen's jobs and identities. They DON'T pay taxes. The destroy our schools due to over crowding and the fact that teachers have to spend more time with the non-English speakers. They destroy our health care system because the ERs can't afford to stay open. They take jobs that Americans WANT. They sponge off the taxpayer. They DEMAND rights and privileges they don't have or deserve. They are CRIMINALS because they are breaking the law. Shall I continue?
If you think people don't care about the ILLEGAL alien criminals, you are sooooo wrong. Americans are so upset about this issue and it will only get worse if our government doesn't do something about it. And that DOESN'T mean amnesty!!!
We don't need the ILLEGAL alien criminals! Proof? May 1, 2006 - "A day without an immigrant" protest. The pro-ILLEGAL alien criminals crowd claimed that if the pro-ILLEGAL alien criminals didn't go to work, our economy and system would collapse. Remember what happened? It was wonderful! Freeways were clear. Business went as usual. Teachers could properly teach their students. Life went on great - we didn't need then!!!
WHAT PART OF ILLEGAL DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND?
I work in an inner-city non-profit hospital in Phoenix, AZ. I think that says it all. We accept people with or without insurance and treat them the same. HOWEVER. People with insurance do not get priority. So, while thousands of illegal immigrants use our ER as their primary medical care center, thousands of legal citizens, paying thousands for their healthcare coverage, who make regular visits to their primary care doctor, wait for hours and hours (sometimes over 24 hours) to be seen. It's just not right. Beyond all political issues, WHY do we hard-working American citizens wait in line for urgent health-care needs behind a non-citizen who has never paid a DIME for health-care coverage? I paid $3,000 for healthcare coverage for my husband and I last year. Mind you, we make less than $60,000 combined income. So damn it, I expect to receive care before a NON-citizen with NO health insurance and the same health issue when I visit the ER.
They overflow our hospitals just like they overflow our schools, and they don't pay a dime for it. Not one dime. So WE pay for them. UGGGGH!

i don't car legal or illegal,,, this country should be for anyone and everyone who wants to live here... everyone in this country was an immigrant at one point,, who are we now to say who can come and go in a country that isn't technically ours??? i don't care if white people are here for another 5000 years,,, this is not the white peoples land,,,,, this is every ones land,, and if u don't agree with that then leave and give it back to the Indians,,,,,, i hope Mexico takes over,,, and puts white people in there place,, at the bottom of the to-tum pole,, then they will know how if feels, to have a bunch of racist sob's depict them,,, and who is it that gets to decide who can come and go last time i looked there was no (white race) everyone is from somewhere else,, hell im german,indian,and italian,,, so how would i have a right to stand up and say build a border,, when im a damn mutt,,,, mexico vive aqui~~sry but its true,,, why dont evreyone start complaining about all the bosnians and russians that are here,, oh wait u cant do that, cuz they arent brown,, they have white skin,,,,

i agree with you. but i have no problems with people coming here legally... and i must say if you turn one type of group of people away and send them back to there own countries... then you must stop all groups of people from coming in the usa....
no mattter what there status is...to the our Gov...
