How citizens feels about illegals, is this forum the majority?
Do you think this is a good break down, % wise, of how legal citizens feel?
Shouldn't elected officials be paying attention?
Answer:
we feel are officials should pay attention to what the american people want. they support the illegals for the votes from people who support them. it does not matter what race becomes the majority in america. it's the fact the illegals are coming here and disrespecting our system. demanding their rights when they have NONE. they burn our flag. and our american and legal immigrants are suffering in school. and they have the nerve to get on here and harass us, call us names and expect us to smile about it. by the way i know govt officials get on this sight. i have read posts they post.
Since when have elected officials given a sh1t about what we think when it's not election time?
Time to elect new ones next year. I wonder what it would be like to have a day without an american? Mass protesting of the screwed up mess that has happened to our country.
officials and other intelligent to semi intelligent people pay attention to polls conducted by respected organizations, who take care to be sure they are representing the american populace. this is their business, and to make money they must be accurate.
YA is biased by many factors.
edit: true, no survey is 100% accurate. that's why they always say + or - 3%. good enough for me.
It's very obvious that the majority of Americans are against illegal immigration. Unfortunately, this majority is too lazy to get off their asses to vote.
Actually, this forum is the literary equivalent of spray-painting graffiti on a wall.
Your congress people are not on MyTend reading. If people want to make it known to them, they need to be writing to them. I honestly don't know about the break down percentage wise. However I will give you an example of a topic. Before the election most people from New York said they wouldn't vote for Hilary for senator of New York. She won by sixty something percentage.
As stated above write to your congresspersons and make sure anybody and everybody else you know who feels strongly about the subject write.
It would help if you gave us a clue about how you see the percentages stacking up.
Are you asking if we support one side or the other? Then what are the choices?
EDIT:
No, you read it.
You wrote:
"...is this forum the majority?"
"...answers posted here on Yahoo Q/A the majority feel quite similarly."
"...how legal citizens feel? "
But no where does it say HOW the majority feel, or how you perceive how they feel. I haven't got a clue what information you are working with. Do you see the majority being pro or con immigration? And is this immigration issue about legal or illegal immigration? I would like to take part in this but you haven't given me anything to logically respond to.
At the end you ask: "Shouldn't elected officials be paying attention?" To this I can say, Yes, they should be paying attention to all things the populace is saying about everything.
No, this forum is not the majority and if it were, it would be the majority of ignorant people in the U.S.A.
The only way of knowing what the people of Y!A think would be to do a poll, which is very buggy in its own right (Not everyone answers, people make fake accounts to vote, etc.). The people you see posting are the extremes, either completely for/against rights for illegal aliens.
As I've said before, both sides need to work together to get this problem fixed. There are enough on either side to make sure that this issue cannot be unilaterally handled.
I believe about 90 percent of the population is against illegal immigration including many legal Hispanics. Regardless of what the majority of the people want, the new democratic majority in Washington, D.C. will probably give most illegals amnesty.
Batty has a point. your question is very unclear.
I dont think so. Only us whackos with nothing else to do come here and express. It gives us some emotion sense that somehow, as Americans, we migh make a difference by shareing our thoughts with others who think differently.
I'm not sure that is what is happening thought.
This sight has made me a very strong proponet for stopping the flow of illegal immigration in public discussions though. I fire off my numbers and make my points ...and every once in a while someone will take me aside and say that the ifno I had helped them dicide that they were with me and wondered what they could do. I make a few suggestion and we are off and running. I think the sight is a good one. You see how those of the other side look and sound and then you realize ...you are right! Ha!
