Yes, people should learn to appreciate what they have.. After living in a third world country for a year, I am sure their attitudes will be completely improved.

You have an excellent point there...and I would like to add just one more thing. There is nothing wrong with actually making a stand on a point if you are actually going to do something about it and you feel so strongly about it. The problem is the people who have such thin skins they get offended at the drop of a hat..i.e. saying Merry Christmas instead of Happy Holidays...because they make such a mountain out of a mole hill and then when it comes time to face the mountain nobody has the time or resources to deal with it. Any of us can sit here and name a hundred things that we don't like..but not many of us can actually say we are doing something about it. I would like to thank the men and women in uniform who are actually doing something about it even as our country cries and moans over the fate of people who would just as soon kill us as look at us.
You could not make it in the 3rd world, In Thailand, You work a 12 hour day, 7 days a week and are lucky to get two days off a month,for $200 a month. You Americans do not know how good you have it. You would complain if you got hung with a new rope.
