Instead of fleeing across borders Mexicans should concentrate on forcing changes there, and figthing corruption

Answer:
I wish that Mexicans would do something to improve their country, but I am afraid that nothing short of a revolution will change old Mexico. Mexicans come here because they can make a lot more money in the US than they can earn in Mexico. As long as we allow them to work here, they will continue to come, even if we complete the border fence.

In order to stop the illegal alien invasion, we must: make being in the US a felony punishable by at least 60 days in prison, put those who hire illegals in prison, and finally use the SSA and IRS to identify the illegal aliens in our country.

Agreed.
I AGREE!!
you would think.. but no they are to busy concentrating on trying to force changes here.. and fighting our laws
Easier said then done... The corruption is to strong to change it any time soon. Same as the U.S.. Why cant we get bush out of office?
I totally agree. Why come here and ruin another country. If they are all soo tired of their government, then they have more than enough to over turn them and take back over their own country.
If the Mexicans go than our teens will have to work. Man why do you want to force all of our teenagers to dig ditches, hang drywall, and landscape. Our teens are happy playing World of Warcraft and just want to be left alone.
They are going to tell you they can't, that it can't be done. And as of right now, why should they, its way easyer to come here.
The reason there are so many Mexican immigrants is because we forced NAFTA on them. It completely destroyed their local economies. Since people have to feed their families they have no choice but to come here for work.
Agreed - But, "easy for you to say."

It's hard to fight corruption and force change when you can't afford many necessities of life.
Coming to the US is easier than making their country worth something.
Well you know that...i know that..but corruption that has been rampant in the southern Hemisphere for so many generations does not go away just like that. Most experts will tell you even with the most drastic changes in place that it would take at least a generation to undo everything. And it is not up to the mexican people to change it but rather the white spanish government to change it . And since that means taking away power and money , i don't see why they would . Mexico is dysfuctional and it always will be in our lifetime and probably our children's lifetimes and no amount of street protesting from the common people will change that . Especially since the majority of people with spirit and action have already crossed over here to make a living . It sucks and i wish they would fix it and enjoy and prosper in their own country but I don't see it happening in my opinion .
Corruption will never end. America, Mexico, and many other countries were built on it. If it ever does end it will not be in this lifetime.
Mexicans are not exactly fleeing across the border: they go -in droves- to work. The vast majority come dreaming of making anough money to send back to their villages and then return in glory as the prodigal son...this has happened for decades and centuries.
Today's Mexico is a complex neo-liberal nation, where the great chasm between those who have (some 1%) to the rest of the population has been deepening frighteningly since 1994, when IWB (International WOrld Bank) formulas for success, and NAFTA, went into effect: the middle class all but disappeared. There is a great war against corruption and above all agaisnst the drug lords who are constantly jockeying for position at the borders. Our unstoppable need for drugs makes this a fruitless task; if drugs were legalized, this business -believe me, a great one for BOTH governments- would be over.
On the other hand, Mexico's ties with the US, especially with all of the border states, are far-reaching, historically and emotionally: do not forget that Texas, California, New Mexico and Arizona were part of Mexico until the war with Texas; Santa Annas's defeat at San Jacinto lost 52% of Mexico's territory.See link for details.
Are you fighting corruption in the U.S.?There is plenty. And don't be partisan,Lots to pick from on both sides. And maybe Mexicans should not come here because we conquered them fair and square with an earlier "Pre-emptive doctrine."Thank you Jesus.
Most people take the path of least resistance. Its easier to come to America than to work to change their own government. If Congress and the president would listen to the people about illegal immigration and make it impossible for illegals to come here, maybe they would do something to change their own country because that then would be the path of least resistance.
smartest thing i read today

Yes, every country in both the Americas have plenty of natural resources just like the USA. Why aren't they just as prosperous as we are?
