How would a South African get a visa extension to stay in the UK?

She came on a 2 year visa. Worked for one year and is now on 'holiday'.
How would she extend this.

Getting a work permit (only if you are in a specified industry), or the Highly Skilled Migrant Visa (based on a points system - University, Age, Income are all factors), these are pretty much the only two ways - unless you have lived with a partner with a british passport for two years!
