Indians are inherently inferior to us in the west so will never achieve our living standards.
India has a large democratic system like the US since the 1940s and progress well ahead of China. What need to be change is the socialist system which discourage foreign investments. The rigid laws which discouraged investors should be changed. Look at what China have done over the past 15 years or so and you will get the answers. With investment come employement and higher standard of living, and the poor need not suffer (that much) as they do today Btw, I am not from China.

India is under development and has rich cultural heritage and now with its increased standards in education , many of the multi national companies are coming forward for their investment in the Indian soil. So , don t worry my friend, India is developing and hope we will be there to see the Developed INDIA !
