Are only American citizens protected by the Constitution...?

...or are all people on American soil covered regardless of their citizenship status? If you think only American citizens are protected, then why do we keep detainees indefinitely in Gitmo? (Note: The Constitution prohibits indefinite detentions through the 'right to a speedy trial'). Lastly, if the Constitution applies to everyone on American soil, don't illegal aliens also deserve Constitutional rights (after all, the 1993 World Trade Center bombers got them)

The constitution is not only applicable to its citizens, but it is about how our citizens view the world as a whole, We are world citizens and the Constitution is our guide as to how we treat others.

There is no discernable american value that's exemplified by the illegal imprisonment of foreign nationals by our military at Gitmo and in other parts of the world. We should have no involvement of participation in torture, or any other inhumanitarian practices as they are a clear breach of the US constitution. WE hold these trues.that ALL men are created equal...that divine spark. That is what is guranteed by the US constitution.
Only americans are protected by the UNITED STATE'S CONSTITUTION.

These terrorists fight against us by:

-Joining rebel groups
-going to ANOTHER COUNTRY
-Choose their fate by fighting the U.S.
The consitution applies to citizens and those who legally belong on U.S. soil.
Some parts of the Constitution apply only to citizens (and it says so).

Basic human rights apply to anyone, anywhere.

Those basic rights can be ignored in case of a war, with enemy combatants outside US soil. So there is a gray area where Basic Human Rights may or may not apply.
It is only for citizens, those at gitmo are not citizens and no illegals have no rights in my country
US constitution applies to American citizens.

Terrorists in Guantanamo have no rights under US Constitution.
Your kidding.... right?
The Constitution only applies to citizens. There are provisions in the US legal code that is not part of the Constitution, from various acts passed, that deal with legal issues regarding illegals.
Only American Citizens = Yes!
Illegals in this Country of OURS are just as they are called.
ILLEGALS!
They do not belong here and should be hunted down and deported immediately!
Detainees at Gitmo are Enemies of this country, and are not Citizens of this Country. They have no right to demand anything.
How is it that you are not complaining about the Killing of Our Military People after being taken as prisoners? What about the innocent women and children in Iraq killed by these People you seem to love?
Why don't you adopt and keep one in your Home? Could it be that your are a Terrorists yourself? Or, could it be you are not stupid enough to invite Death into Your Home!
The bill of rights in a part of the Constitution. And the Bill of rights protect non citizens. These are Human rights. That everyone has regardless of Citizenship.
First you need to carefully read the Constitution and all amendments. Certain rights and privileges are only for legal US citizens. Others cover any human on US territory.

And there is a division in the law where there is Criminal code and Civil code. They are very different.

Gitmo detainees come under military Rules of Engagement and hostiles who do not belong to any nation's military or wear uniforms while commiting terrorist (warlike) acts.

At present we have millions of illegals invading and demanding all the rights of LEGAL citzens.
Yes and It should be.
On the other hand, if the "illegals" wants to enjoy ANY rights, then a good start might be showing a little respect towards the Constitution. The Constitution was not given free to us. It was fought for both in the battlefield, and in the legal system. It was fought for and preserved by U.S. Citizens, and many had lost their lives from the country's founding days to now. Not just in the current war. We are the most generous nation in the world, and we are still holding an open debate for those whom are not citizens, yet they openly march again us, and with the "in your face" attitude. It just might make this whole immigration debate more digestible if some respect are shown towards this county and towards our Constitution.
By the way, I am a U.S. Citizen by choice through the Naturalization process.
"By the people and for the people".

Funny how it says nothing about illegal immigrants so I guess it is for citizens only and as it should be.
There are protections and protections. Some protections are only for citizens. Others are to protect the integrety of our system, such as basic due process. I understand that due process is different a) if it is 'administrative' like deportation rather than leading to jail and b) if the people are not citizens. Still there is a requirement.
