What Are Your Thoughts On The Abuse of Border Patrol Agents ?
Answer:
Sutton needs to be taken put of office. what our govt is fighting across the world is happening here in the united states. and they are the ones letting it happen. why do americans have to pay for the poor conditions other country's are putting their citizens in? i'm tired of reading and hearing how americans are being killed and our govt sticks up for the ones who is causing this illegal acts agents americans of the united states.
Mexican George could end this ,the whole thing was a lie,tony snow job is a disgrace.
It's a Complete disgrace that our border patrol agents sit behind bars while a STINKING Low Life DRUG smuggler walks Free with Amnesty. Our Border patrol agents should have been given Medals. It's just another case of our government selling us out to the ILLEGALS.
They are guilty. Let them serve their time.
It is FREAKIN RIDICULOUS, when our government bends over backwards to reward known CRIMINALS, and then punish our law enforcemt officers INSTEAD!!!!!!! And someone needs to HELD ACCOUNTABLE!!!
Well if these border patrol agents DID shoot an man who was running a way, then of course they should be punished. No kind of brutality by the law should be tolerated.
I read the Secure Fence Act when it was going through Congress. I did not read it after the Senate passed it, but understood it was unchanged from the House version. In the version I read there were provisions to require Homeland Security to investigate border patrol procedures such as not being allowed to pursue fleeing suspects. I am hoping that and the Judiciary Committee investigation into the Ramos and Compean situation will shed needed light on the subject.
I'll look for the bill passed.
Here it is: "SEC. 5. EVALUATION AND REPORT RELATING TO CUSTOMS AUTHORITY TO STOP CERTAIN FLEEING VEHICLES.
(a) —Not later than 30 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Homeland Security shall—
(1) Customs and Border Protection to stop vehicles that enter the United States illegally and refuse to stop when ordered to do so by such personnel, compare such Customs authority with the authority of the Coast Guard to stop vessels under section 637 of title 14, United States Code, and make an assessment as to whether such Customs authority should be expanded;
(2) review the equipment and technology available to United States Customs and Border Protection personnel to stop vehicles described in paragraph (1) and make an assessment as to whether or not better equipment or technology is available or should be developed; and
(3) evaluate the training provided to United States Customs and Border Protection personnel to stop vehicles described in paragraph (1).
(b) REPORT.—Not later than 60 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Homeland Security shall submit to the Committee on Homeland Security of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs of the Senate a report that contains the results of the evaluation conducted under subsection (a)."

Hmm, by the dates, that should have come out, and I think I did see something about expanding border patrol authority to be more like the coast guard. I'm not sure what that was, though.
It is a travesty! God forbid these poor men are actually left alone to do their jobs. Geez, it isn't like you join the Border Patrol for the scenery! I was under the impression that you were supposed to catch border jumpers. Maybe they should rename it the "Scenic Southwest Tour Club"....You get my point.
