After getting off the steamships and arriving in Canada, how would immigrants go about making their way to wherever they wanted to settle in Canada?
Answer:
I'm not sure about Canada, but in the US, the immigrant usually had family would could arrange temporary shelter and cross-country transportation, if needed. Those who came alone had a really tough go of it. The had to find work in a neighborhood which spoke their language and gradually work their way up.
We have it pretty easy, huh?
