What do you think of undocumented students that get help into college?

If your ignorant and racist dont bother answering. Beleive it or not there are some people to come here for the American Dream. It doesn't matter what your color is it's about the better life. I think it's a great thing that is going on here. I have my stereo types just like anyone else but when you hear about the College bound kids it make me appreciate being american that much more. It might be frustrating that every other billboard is in a different language but then you read something like this article and you know that some out there are still trying. Dont bother with your taxpayer crap cause these students earned the scholorship just like any other student would. I want to know how you all feel about this.

Answer:
Sounds to me like you have already answered your own question and made up your own mind so why are you asking us?

I can, but apparently YOU can't--you have already been derogatory in your remarks.

Look, all I am saying here is this: If I were to go to a different country to live, I would do it through legal channels. Is it wrong to expect the same of others?
So basically according to your comments you do not want any one to disagree with you.
It's wrong and they are not undocumented they are illegal. They do not deserve to be in one of our colleges. The American dream does not include breaking the law.

Why do you guys always choose the avatar with the scowling face?
Undocumented, and undeserved.
i feel great, they are taking the chances that others refused to take ans it's honorable!!

i hope they keep doing what they are doing!!
I like that the students are getting scholarships, but the fact that they are illegal immigrants means their parents are not paying the taxes for them to attend schools.

To attend school, I think you should have to be a legal resident. What does this sort of thing say for the future of whatever country they come from, if the best minds choose to leave their own country to come here? Why abandon your own country?

Also, will these kids then go around waving a Mexican flag later, even though Mexico didn't do anything to help them with their education?
It is wrong. A person should be legal before attending a college or university here.
As a mother that raised two wonderful kids to believe in the American dream I would have to say that if a person any person breaks the laws of this or any other country to get in they should not be rewarded by being given scholarships that American born kids could use, or be allowed to vote, have credit cards or any other things that a country normally keeps for those that are it's citizens. Call me racist all you want but no other country in the world would reward a criminal for breaking it's laws. Isn't America wonderful and by the way my kids went into the service so they could afford an education as we made to much money at $55K a year both my husband and I have worked all of our lives in the country of our birth and our kids couldn't even get a scholarship one of the ones our taxes have paid for and you don't mind giving to an illegal. And by the way who gave them the right to fly my countries flag in destress under the one of the country they chose to leave. No one that's who, it's disgraceful and disrespectful but they want us to look the other way NOT ON MY WATCH.And my reward for working and paying taxes is that someone that disrespects my country can go to college on my dollar...
I'll tell you what I think. I don't like paying taxes from my hard earned dollars for some illegal to take advantage of our higher education, I don't care how good his or her grades are. There are plenty of American residents and/or citizens who also have high point averages & are not able to have this opportunity for one reason or another. That, in my opinion, is a crime! The American Dream is suppossed to be for those who are here LEGALLY.
I love it, Those are our future ,my granddaughter is in her senior year at the University of Minnesota, She is on a scholarship, we have six college graduates in the last two generations of my family. Where before it was an impossibility to finish high school, because you were needed to work to help support our families. Two of my sons own their own business. Chicano's remain in school and get an education, we need you now more than ever. I am glad to see them get a part of the American dream.
I believe qualified students will get scholarships as they can be here on student visas and would not be undocumented. How can something earned illegally actually be earned. Is Drug dealer money earned and should it be treated with the same respect as a person who actually has a job or a legitimate business?

If you are talking about families who are here illegally who are sending there kids to school and using Pell Grants and other Government sponsored and need based scholarship they are being an unfair burden on the tax payers of this country.

If someone were to appreciate being an American, they should start by following our laws. There are a lot of Hispanics who are sick and tired of this being thought of as an issue of race. I am Puerto Rican, and here legally as are all Puerto Ricans.

If you believe the Law is wrong as a citizen change it. Call your Congressman, your Senator .. whoever. Otherwise don't be angry when people are tired of the burden non taxpaying Illegals cause on US Citizens.
So basically what you're saying is people who don't agree with you shouldn't answer?

Ah well,I think it's ridiculous that illegals get that help.
How is that possible? I made a mistake on my FAFSA app. and it took almost till the end of the semester to get it straighten out (I had to pay out of pocket).
I think they should be deported if they are illegal.
Getting the scholarship is great, but they still should be charged out of state tuition just like anyone else who is going there from out of state. The Dream Act is not for a scholarship plan. It is to get the students a lower tuition as if they were residents within the state. That is unfair to all of us who have had to pay out of state tuition to go to college.

Also, if this 'dream act' came into effect, the colleges would probably all raise their tuition because they know they have to give all immigrants in-state tuition. The only way around it would be for them to raise tuition for everyone and make it all the same for everyone no matter what state (or country) you are from.

Doesn't seem fair to everyone else.
I am livid about this! I am on debt up to my ears because I had to pay out of state resident and the act that most of the illegal students (if they even have to pay their tuition) can get away with in state tuition just makes my head explode! I am a 37 year old student who has been taking care of my mom for 14 years(she's disabled) and working jobs Americans won't do just to keep a roof over our heads and I can't get a break! I am so PISSED OFF I can't begin to tell you here!
I was encouraged about the article until some yadayada guy started talking about how "undocumented" students shouldn't be illegible for scholarships.

Lordy, lordy... is there never any end to it?
no
I think it is awful that illegals can get scholarships while some of the legal citizens of this country cannot. It is not a racist matter. The legal citizens should come first. The illegals have no rights.
I think if they made good grades then why not give them finaid and grants or scholarships.
If how can you earn a scholarship when you arent eligible?
Unless they are considering people who are illegal eligible, which I do not agree with.
