How do I get my husbands kids to America from Jamaica?
I was told by someone just to fill out the I-130 (Petition for Alein Relative) for each child then when they arrive in US, to fill out and send in the I-485 for Adjustment of Status. Something just does seem right to me.
Answer:
That is correct. You must fill out a form but its not as easy as it seems. You have to provide a lot of proof of steady residence, income amount, etc. Then you have to write a descripition of the purpose of bringing them here and show that you actually do correspond with them, etc. A lot of beuracratic crap basically. They may need to come here on a visa...I don't know how it works with Jamaica, I'm from Russia, but my relatives had to bring all that proof and copy of the form to their own embassy and get a visa back in Russia in order to come here. Since the children are minors (I assume) it may be different, especially considering that they are CHILDREN of one of the people requesting their presence. My advice is just fill out the form and if they need something else do it then. Once you get them in the country good luck with the I-485...it took FOREVER to process for me. May be faster for them due to them being from Jamaica and due to them being children.
hopefully, you don't.
Jamaica is IN America.
The Caribbean is part of America, look it up.
The children of green card holders are not necessarily eligible for immediate residency. It depends on many factors. Their ages. Who has custody. Etc.
airplane?
If it doesn't seem right to you, your insticts might be telling you something. Perhaps consider hiring a professional person that deals with immigration so you know things will run smoothly. Good luck!
how many children did your husband father with how many other women?
Wouldn't you be better off asking an immigration service than a bunch of minutemen...
