Can I drive in the US with my Jamaican licence?

I am a Jamaican visiting Philadelphia for one week. I would like to know if I can legally drive with my licence or is there something that I need to do?

Answer:
As far as car hire firms I have used are concerned (Hertz and Avis), they are happier with a full licence from your country of origin rather than an International licence. Check with your car hire company in case anything has changed. I've a full UK licence and driven thousands of miles in the States.
Not unless you have an international driver's license, or one issued by a state within the U.S.
Until bush leaves everything is legal. So do it
yeah, we drove around Miami and Las Vegas with a UK licence, and the police who talked to us after our car was hit were fine with it. don't see why a jamacan licence would be different.
Yes,just don't get caught.
i was reading on the US government webpage, and it used Mexico as an example. It said Mexican tourists driving in the US for vacation purposes were OK to drive with their Mexican license, so long as they had tourist drivers insurance. It also named Canada. So...I'm not sure if this is a North American thing, or like the person from the UK said, a "tourist" thing.

Either way, you said you had been living here. So if you are living in the US, you need to go and get a US drivers license. Also, make sure to get insurance!! You will get in HUGE trouble if you are caught without it. Best of luck to you!
you probably can, since irish ppl are allowed to drive on uk roads with an irish license
