There is no such thing a level playing field. If Mexico does not mind Americans being in Mexico illegally, who are we to make them care? We can't.
The focus on the immigration issue is a matter of US law, not Mexican law. If the people of the US want to tighten immigration and border laws, that's their prerogative. Mexico does not have to deport the illegal Americans as a rebuttal to the US foreign policy.
It all comes down to the motivation to have illegal immigrants kicked out of a country. Apparently the US wants to do something about the situation, where as Mexico may not really care. Maybe if Mexico was motivated to remove the Americans, then something might happen.

And, IF there were "i million illegal Americans in mexico," it's probably because the MEXICAN government has them rotting in their mexican jails and won't LET THEM GO!!! And we KNOW how mexico treats THEIR prisoners!!!!
If they are truely illegal. Deport them back to their country of origin. If it is the United States, send them back. If they are hiding in Mexico, it is probably because they are wanted on a felony warrant here in the US.
However, you cannot justify Illegals in the US with a question like this, so if that was your intent you failed.
The fact of the matter is that no country should put up with illegals crossing their borders and endangering their sovereignty. However, it seems that the US has a very large problem with illegals from Mexico and Central and South America crossing into our country from Mexico. Mexico and the US need to work together to stop this, but the previous Mexican President actually said it was their constitutional right to enter the US illegally. The citizens of the US are sick and tired of this type of thinking among illegals and we are stepping up and taking the situation in hand by building the fence and upping immigration raides on known employers of illegals.
Mexico has the same opportunity to deport illegals from their country.

I would like to see where you got that number from. I do not believe that there are 1 mil U.S. people in Mexico. Have you ever been there? I have and I never saw any Americans there conducting any kind of business. Even on the streets there were no Americans other than tourists who had every intention in going back home after being there.Why would they want to live there?It is a third world country, unless they are trying to hide from the law for some reason? If that is the case, then I hope that they stay in Mexico because we have plenty of illegals from that country right here in the states in our jail systems who we have to pay for everyday.. Billy Bob, as you can see there are plenty of hate towards Mexico. I don't get it. One of them said that maybe they are getting rotten in a Mexican jail because it is well know how Mexico treats his prisoners in jail. I think that in Mexico it is better to be in jail that in US. At least the prisoners have the right to have conjugal visits and let them you have sex with their wives or girlfriends and to be spare time every Sunday with their families. The American opinion about Mexico is so poor that now I understand since I'm participating in this forum why they hate us. The problems is that they see us like a sub humans, make fun of us, disrespect our country, our culture and everything. They feel above the entire humankind and that's wrong. And then they complain why they hate'm in Europe and the entire world. The American arrogance doesn't have limits. And I'm not talking about all Americans thanks God they are some very good people.

You are using biased figures. For the most part, those that you are calling 'illegal', are actually in Mexico legally pending permanent work status. The others illegals in Mexico, which are for the most part Mexicans with family that are citizens of Mexico, are permitted permitted under Mexican Law to reside with thier family. How ever, they all have one thing in common. They all speak Spanish.
What benefits are these, so called, Illegal American Immigrants" sucking dry from the Mexican government? Can you honestly compare an American that knows there is nothing that the Mexican government has to offer, with the Millions of Illegal Mexicans that come to the US to suck dry every freedom and benefit that we have to offer? There are between 150, 000 and 1 million Americans in Mexico, depending on what number you believe. Not all of them are there illegally or permanently. Many are really travelling and quite a few registered and followed all the rules. Even if you believe there are 1 million Americans in Mexico, the articles claiming this say up to 4/5 are illegal, not all million. Most dispute the validity of this 1 million claim.
I'd almost be willing to guarantee they are still there because they brought money with them. Most countries require their visitors to have money to get in. Mexico of all places knows the value of a rich American visitor.

Closed borders would stop the flow in both directions, U.S Criminals couldn't escape, and Illegal criminals couldn't enter the U.S.. Its a win win for both sides.

i jus know that many Americans have businesses in mexico, some which are very big factories. This helps the American business owner financially in a very big way, for they dont pay taxes in mexico and they have very very cheap labor. They make millions and bring it back to the U.S. and buy mansions and cars and... well u name it! In other words, theyre taking advantage of another country and there are many of them. maybe not millions but they do take a lot out of the mexican country just to better their lives. anyways, what happend to we're all created equal and this is the land of the free???... there was no exceptions to those words, those exceptions came later on!!

The whole terrorism thing, that is the stupidest thing ever. Again, blaming the Mexicans for it. First of all, they did not come through that border, second of all, the people crossing the borders are most likely coming to make a better life, third of all, most illegal immigrants came here legally and stayed over time. They still pay taxes and get no returns, they cannot get help from the government because it would be stupid to even ask for it, they work their butts off all day to support their family, and then raise their kids with morality and those children are rising.
Why don't people talk about that immigrant soldier, son of illegal parents, fighting for the country that looks down on him?? How they want to deport his parents?? Why don't you guys talk about all these famous and or successful Mexicans who have made it here?? I know MANY immigrants that are making it big, and no matter what you say, there's no stopping us.
