Should we make Spanish one of the official languages of the United States...?
People who are fully bilingual and speak both languages every day for most of their lives can delay the onset of dementia by up to four years compared with those who only know one language
Answer:
sounds good, but we should make English one too (for all of the cry-babies)
THIS IS THE USA not the UNITED STATES of SPAIN!!!!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...
One of the official languages?
When did we get an official language?
NO
It would be nice
No.
no leave it to mexico!!!
Hell no..
English should be our Language and that is that
We do not have an official language, sorry to say....but to answer your question..NO!!!!! English is and should be the official language,
No we already have our language let the people coming in learn it. When in Rome do as the Romans.
Hell no we shouldn't! I'd rather have English as the official language and that's it! I hate the Spanish language! It's too hard to learn!
No!!!!
No, this is the U. S. A., we have 1 language,its english.
My ancestors would be upset, for they could not speak their language here. If you make English and Spanish official then you'll have people who speak korean, chinese, japanese and everything else wanting their language official as well.
NO
if I move to Italy, I'll learn Italian, if to Brazil, Portuguese, Germany? well, I'd have to learn German and so on... it's very rude to move to another country and expect the population to speak your native language.
I've heard that to get citizenship in Mexico (non natural) or to buy property that you must be proficient in the Spanish language...
That is just wonderful. Personally I support teaching more than one language in our schools.
However, there needs to be a universal standard language used for official business. The traditional language of this country is English and needs to officially recognized as such, if for no other reason than to keep us from having to provide all government documents in English, Spanish, German, Cantonese, Swahili, etc...
No.
WE are not going to have a choice in the matter!
yes!
im hispanic and I like to speak the little spanish i know....
plsu sooner or later the whole countrys gonna be overrun by spanish speaking people
If we do not start enforcing our borders, Spanish will become our national language whether we like it or not.
Adios! Scram. Exit,stage left!
I speak 4 languages myself, English, French(my heritage),Spanish, and Tagalog But his counties constitution is written in English, while I support the idea of Americans holding on to their heritage by retaining the language of there ethnic origin, this is a melting pot to choose one other language to be official would start a huge dilemma of what would be the next, and so on, and so on.
Well what kind of a question is that? There are russians, germans, japanese, chinese, africans, mexicans, french, italian, arabic and everyone else. Where would it end? I think not. This is america and we speak english here. That should be the only official language Lefty.
Definitely not, when in rome, do as romans, whoever comes here MUST learn english.
I think most of your responders already have dementia. Look at how quick to hate they are! You'll also be able to see by the thumbs down I get. It would be a great idea, not only Spanish but all other languages too!
No. Elderly people who play Bingo ward off dementia also. Should we all play Bingo?
We only need ONE official language here, English. If you want to habla espanol, or any other language, that's fine with me, but we need a single language if we're going to remain a unified country, and English, with its long tradition of use here, is the logical choice.
I am hispanic my mother from California and my father from Columbia. I speak spanish and english. But I feel the United States caters to much spanish language and is not fair. When entering the USA you should learn the language or at least attempt to. Apon entering other contries they expect you to know their language, Why is any different here? One person should learn English not the whole country learn Spanish!
It would be a further insult to Americans. If it were not done now, at this time, it might be an interesting idea.
The truth of the matter is, as in line with the rest of the lies Americans are being fed daily, the language is part of our official language. You can't go to any government building without there being both Spanish and English posted for all business.
This sort of thing is what Americans are getting more and more angry about. They are being told lies and cheated. The outcome will be ongoing anger at those who speak other languages and dislike/disappointment with the concept of Democracy and Americanism. Witness America in a downward spiral ...perhaps to it's own end.
Just because I don't like illegal alien criminals does not make me a racist!!!!!!!!
THIS IS AMERICA, NOT MEXICO!!!!!! THE LANGUAGE IS ENGLISH.
If you do puzzles and math problems and solve riddles....play Scrabble and Monopoly and card games... all of that type of creative thinking also delays dementia. But when you throw in " official language".... now those are fighting words!!! Hell NO to Spanish in this country !!!! Wash your mouth out with soap !! Go on, do it.
