Do you think Arizona's Governor, Janet Napolitano is setting a good example for the rest of our country?
Answer:
She is enforcing laws that already exist. That is what the government should have been doing from the beginning. If they had been we wouldn't be discussing immigration policies. I think it is a step in the right direction. Businesses need to be held accountable for operating illegally - whether it's fraud or for hiring illegals.
Like it. She's finally addressing the root of the problem.
She is a true American. I only wish the governor of my state had the cajones she has. All our names had to come from somewhere.
We do this to every wave of immigrants; we're always worse to them when their skins aren't white.
The entire thing makes me sad. There's enough America to go around.
I think it's a good idea but I am not sure that businesses hiring illegal immigrants is the root of the problem.
There are much deeper social issues that should be given the same attention. Politicians are more interested in the money angle.
I thought for sure she was going to veto the bill, but..that would have made her extremely unpopular and a more strict version was going to to directly to the voters next year if the state did nothing.
I support the law, and I am an AZ employer.
She has done what? It's against the law to cross our boarders without a work permit right now. Your BULL about her last name makes no sense. Get your facts straight before you start looking for a shoulder to cry on.
You libs seem to be incapable of discerning a difference between legal immigrants and ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS! I have nothing against legal immigrants, but illegals should be captured and deported. The USA has the right to secure its borders, enforce its immigration laws, and to imprison and deport those who break our immigration laws. What is it about those rights that you don't understand?
The Governor of Az is doing the right thing for her state and for the USA, but she had to be dragged into it by the citizens of her state. She is certainly no hero, but I give her credit for enforcing the laws of her state, unlike our president who will not prosecute those who employe illegal aliens.
Yeah, a LEGAL immigrant. Just like this lib is the descendant of LEGAL Italian immigrants.
Bravo for her monumental example of what the U.S. government needs to do on the FEDERAL level to curtail the influx of illegal aliens.
If every state would follow that example we could get a handle on illegal immigration. Maybe Arizona will be the catalyst for the entire US to address this problem on a state, city and town level.
yes I belive she is on the right track . also I dont think very many people will agree with me on this but I feel we need to get the full time politican's out of our gov. ( robert byrd is a good example, he has done a lot for west virginia but we need the help all over the U S A ) and get some younger people in there that has a handle on your every day life . if we can get rid of the old politican's the younger will get the U S A back to the american's
I live in Az and we are being over run by Mexicans. This really won't impact things too much since illegals usually operate within a cash system. They stand outside of Home Depot for day labor jobs. Never do I see a police waiting to arrest someone there.
Yes,she's doing exactly what she should be.
I read the article and am excited for the state of Arizona. Now if we could get the rest of the country to start cracking down on companies with illegal immigrants in their list of employees, then we might be able to start getting the enforcement that is needed on this issue. I live in Maryland and where I live there is a lot of farming. That means the illegals are all over the place and every day I see tons of them. They are in the grocery stores, the movies, the malls, and the doctor's offices, just to name a few. I see them every day where I work, walking in and having services done without having a legal status to be here in this city, this state and this country.
I am fed up with Bush and this government trying to tell me they know what is good for me. I am tried of hearing that the illegals come here to "do the job that Americans don't want to do." This is just another way of corporate America trying to run this country at our expense. There are many homeless people and low income families that would love to do the work these people do to earn a paycheck, but they can't get hired because illegals are here. Give the homeless housing like they do the illegals and see if they won't work for you.
Whether or not this will really work or not Napolitano is the best governor this state has seen. She is honest and truly represents the people. Bush and his masters and buddies in the Supreme court will likely find a way to mire the enforcement of the new law but it shows someone is at least fighting them on our side. Too bad there aren't more like her, we'd stand a chance of taking this great land back from the greedy pigs in power.
I'm sure her ancestors once were immigrants. LEGAL immigrants. As were my ancestors and, I'm sure, your ancestors.
Governor Napolitano is doing the right thing. All states must adopt the same laws so that we can force the illegals back where they belong. All illegals, not just those from Mexico. We need to take our country back and she's taking the proper stance.
