Why do we constanly blame our problems in this country on immigration?
fact is I think immigration is just a scapegoat for people in this country to blame thier problems on, I am white was born in the uk and lived here all my life, now In response to the people who accuse immigrants of coming over here living a lazy life and living off of benefits i say this, I have never known a single immigrant living entirly off benefits, I have however known pleanty that work 12+ hour shifts with me in the factory I work in do as much over time as they can to support thier families back home working 50+ hour weeks sometimes, I have also known many who set up thier own busiesses and work long hours running them not to be stereotypical ut running any kind of business isnt easy even if its just a kebab shop.
it is the uk people sitting on the dole because there to lazy to work that r lazy

Completely agree. It's much easier to blame immigrants than to look honestly at our own failings as a society. In this way, actually immigration is good for us because it forces us to realise that unemployment is here not because of lack of jobs, but because of lack of skills. We really need to sort ourselves out. We should reduce access to benefits for people to just sit around moaning, but help people more to retrain, to move to jobs, etc.
you obviously dont live in an area that has problems with immigration, Im against anyone that sits on their backside and sponges of the government. There are plenty immirgants in my area on beefits, they get housing, money etc etc meanwhile the are millions of british people who need help. Its not only that, its the fact that political correctness has gone too far, we're not allowed to celebrate being british in fear that we may offend the ethnic minorities

Because immigrants are entitled to housing in this country.what about some housing for English people in England? I am not racist.in fact, my baby is mixed-race. You have a very one-sided approach you your argument, but your not completly wrong.
Immigration is however a problem, and a relitivly unadressed one, problems will be blamed (sometimes unfairly) on imigrants and without active goverment action, people are going to be missinformed, and judgmental.
Do you think that because you are such a diligent worker that maby you only associate with hard working diligent workers?
I on the otherhand have had some time off latly (through illness) and have seen lots of non speaking people obviously not working (some very drunk at very early in the mourning!)
Now i know white people can be as bad but i think (no dissrespect) you have some very rose tinted glasses on.
There are some very rude, lazy, inconsiderate people that carn't be bothered to work and want a free ride.
But you are looking at it from only one point of view without taking into account other factors - immigration is a problem when houses and benefits go to them FIRST - above the people that live here and have worked here and contributed to the system.
Secondly, please don't be so naive as to think that there isn't a problem - despite the media propoganda about we 'must' integrate them into our lives and country - how many of them integrate into ours - the answer is some - NOT ALL - these are the ones that people object to - I have no objection to people coming to this country to better themselves PROVIDED they work and contribute.
Next equation to take into account - CRIME - though not widely reported (for whatever reason) have you not noticed that in certain areas comtaining high percentages of immigrants the massive increase in crime - where I live we have a problem - we are only supposed to have 220 immigrant people - the official figure from Government sources - at last count by local authority - we had 2000 + - many of those immigrants are from Poland, Lithuania, Romania + Hungary - and the crime rate has increased 25%.
Therein lies the problem - we are not being told the truth by official government statistics - because they won't tell us.
Many of the immigrants do work and contribute and many including me have no objection to this BUT the one's that come here and ponce off of our society, take housing ahead of our fellow countrymen and women and then propogate hatred and convince kids to blow themselves up and take innocent others with them - CAN SOD OFF.

Lost of hard working eastern Europeans and lots of very hard working ethnic minoritys.
But, there are also alot of people that are claiming Asylum, getting put in hostels or B&B's for 12 weeks and then being given instant local authority housing.
and that is 100% fact and that is wear the friction is.
The UK should have smilair immigration laws to countries like Australia, Canada etc where you are measured on your skills, your wealth and what you cn bring to the country.
ALso, If immigrants do come here, until they have paid a certain amount of taxes etc they should be excluded from state help such as health care tc and pay privatly, that would cap things quite alot.
The thing is to put caps on immigration not close it.
Immigration is a smoke screen when people are getting too close to real problems.
Some bring up terrorists smuggling stuff in the Mexican border...I'm sorry but if anybody wanted stuff smuggled in the border it is possible.
The first Mexican who sees a possible terrorist is gonna say something because they dont want the border shut down and ruin it for their family.

Most immigrants are workers who do jobs others wont. Without them, the world economy will suffer since we produce most of the worlds produce. Not to go off on a racial tangent, but the majority of complainers of immigration on welfare, are white and not black or mexican though whites are the most on welfare. Because of the exchange rate, america makes a lot of money when mexicans send money back home. They have a tendency to avoid credit and pay cash.
What most do not know is the Bush administration is attempting to create a super state with Canada, Mexico, and the U.S. into one with one currency called the Amero, when the dollar collapses, rivaling the Euro. So what will people think when their so-called problem turns out to be fake.
Immigration is a laughter to other countries to capitalize on our fears, and seize another opportunity for globalists to sharpen our borders to keep us in, rather than keep others out. it is another illusion orchestrated to control the U.S. citizens in the war on freedom!
Ask any economist. The main problem with the US economy is we as individuals do not save. Not outsourcing, not immigration or welfare abuse, not credit, none of it! WE JUST DONT SAVE!

I live in Sydney, in a very upmarket harbour side area and always say hello (well actually G'day Mate) sorry for the stereotype, to the Indians and Thais who work around the clock doing the work we wouldn't do ! They seem to appreciate the gesture and no I don't think their taking our jobs, more like providing a "service". I opened up a bit after seeing how they live over there ! We have it soooooooo good here !

No one is against legal immigration. They are against illegal immigration. These people aren't all wonderful workers as you seem to think. We have violent gangs and criminals in the country and illegals are causing hospitals to close from treating them without reimbursement, schools over burdened, jails,social services taxed to the breaking point providing services paid for by legal tax payers.

Are you serious? You see absolutely no problems stemming from immigration? It must be nice to be so oblivious. You have no cares about the environment, over population, limited resources, schooling, etc? You should really look into this topic, and learn the facts.
IMMIGRATION HAS TO STOP!
Back in the 1960s Enoch Powell warned the British about mass immigration and what would happen to our country! He was so right then and must be either turning in his grave or laughing at the mess we are currently experiencing! The floodgates need to be closed once and for all! The comment made by another contributor regarding the British people as idlers is such a load of rubbish! Most of us want to work - but precedence has to be given now to our 'brothers' and 'sisters' who have newly arrived here! Hah! Eastern Europeans for example should be encouraged to stay in their own countries and help rebuild after the fall of Communism!

The sooner we become the United States of Europe the better. Get rid of the borders. We should only deport people back to the country of origin, if and when Austrailia, Spain, USA, New Zealand, France, Ireland, Estonia, Latvia deport all the British ex-pats back here, then we would have a real reason to moan!
