Should employers who drop their wages to hire illegals be reprimanded somehow? Should this be come illegal?!!!
Answer:
Some companies in California are suing their competitors who allegedly hire illegals for unfair business practices, saying they can't compete. In other areas labor are suing for low wages due to hiring of illegals.
I think it is an excellent idea.
Stop being a whiny little socialist!
If you can't compete, then you have two choices- evolve or die!
You can upgrade or expand your skills, further your education, or move somewhere where there is greater demand for whatever it is that you do. In any event, YOU need to take responsibility for YOUR lot in life!
Let's flip the scenario. Suppose I either invest money in your employer or I buy from from your employer. If your employer continues to pay a wage that is above the market clearing wage, then I lose out on investment returns or I have to pay a higher price for the company's output- just because you can't/won't move up the value chain. How is that fair?
