Can a person immigrate to the US but work out of the country?

My husband is immigrating to the US he has not entered yet because I work outside the US and won't complete my contract out of the country until 7 months but my husband have to enter within six months? Can he immigrate and tell immigration that I and he both work outside the country but it is not our home the States is our domicile home. Please advise

Answer:
Your answer is yes, There is a grace period for transitioning immigrants. The U.S. immigration system is not without compassion for people in your situation. Just go to or call the Embassy or consulate. They will have better info for you than wha you could get here.
I guess.
If you can show sufficient funds.
You really have to ask immigration. But you could establish an address, couldn't you? I have read something on this board about needing to be in the US continuously while SOME sorts of paperwork are being processed, but I don't see why it would apply here, if you just show the contract and get a driver's license and all that in the US to change residence. You should note that as a resident of the US you will need to file in the US for taxes, whether or not you end up paying any due to paying them in other countries. Residence has its obligations as well as privileges. You might want to think about that, given that it is just a month. In any event, you should contact immigration with a question this serious.
