My foreign friend has a MULTIPLE UNDEFINITELY American visa which he got about 11 years ago....?

Does he have to renew it to come here? I heard that it is valid for 10 years and every ten years it had to be renewed. Is it true? Is there a chance that it might not be renewed for some reason? But he had that right once, I mean was given that visa so normally should not be taken from him.

Answer:
What matters is the fact that he have a visa. My mother got a visa like that and didn't have a problem coming to visit me here in the United States. Now, since 9/11 we have new laws, but I don;t think that he would have a problem coming to the States. But I strongly recommend you or him to check in the State Department website about the new regulations for foreigners with visas that were expedite for 10 years. Good luck.
i think before it was "easier" to get a multiple-entry visa to the United States. Lucky for him, only a few have this kind of visa. I think he can renew it in any US embassy or US consulate.
