Immigration?

In 1997 my mom applied for her brother to come to America (from India) and this year we finally got the letter that my uncles sponorship application has been opened. My parents paid all the fees for my uncle and his family (around $2,000), and now my family got a letter stating that because the file was accidentally opened early we have to wait until a visa number is avaibale, and the file will not continue processing until that happens. I know that the year 1995 sponorships are going through now, so my uncles file came out 2 years early by accident.

My question is: How long do we have to wait until the processing starts again? It was not our fault and all the fees have been paid?

Do we need to wait a couple extra months or even the 2 years before my Uncle and his family get Visas?

I have already called immgration, but they did not give me much information.

Thanks for any help!

Answer:
Sorry that you are having difficulty. I think that you should get your $2,000 back until they are ready to begin actually processing your Uncle's application. It sounds as if the Immigration office is very disorganized and they might 'misplace' the money.

As a "white" person, I for one am glad that you're being a good citizen by trying to follow the rules. People like you and your family who have waited more than 10 years is what makes me so angry about those who have "cheated" the system by entering illegally.

Wish you the best.

.
it depend i was in this situation i would hire a perfessional
this is why the white people are becomeing the minority

best of luck
I am sorry to have to tell you, the USA can only take a limited number of people, and too many Mexicans have jumped across the fence, illegally, making it hard for you and your family, and all the millions of honest immigrants to come here now.
It's pretty dispicable and really disrespectful to all the rest of the people in this world when millions of mexicans just come into the USA without applying to do so legally, and this is the consequences.
Offer more money,You can buy those monkeys cheap.Slip them a few bucks.
Unfortunately The U.S is over flooded with illegals now who do not respect the law like you are trying to do. This poses such issues like those that you are experiencing. I feel bad for you and your family and wish you the best. Hang in there. I am sorry that I can't find the answer for you. I did try but have been unsuccessful also.
Hey all i can say that since he is already in the U.S. you guys need to get a good lawyer depending on your state .......
The papers what got processed accidently is the fault of immigration & they have to no choice to process your uncles papres all you need to find a good lawyer
