What do you think about the new 'Day without an Immigrant' on May 1, and who, really, are those pushing it?

Even from the illegal immigrant's viewpoint, do you think this is a good idea?

Are these people being used?

Answer:
My understanding from last year's protest was that it was the pro-illegal crowd. What was great was that they only thing they proved was that we DON'T need them. They claimed that we would be crippled without these people. WRONG! Anytime you can drive 75mph in LA during rush hour is great. Also let me know what stores/car wash I'm not going to go to.

I can't understand why they are doing it again this year. Personally I can't wait for this year's protest. It will again show that the illegal alien criminals are not needed.
Stay home and forget about it, let'em deal with it alone!
Are you saying that these jokers are planning another march this year? If so, then you all need to go out and see how they are getting these people to march. They bus them in, pay them to march and are absolutely and unequivocally using them.

The marches last year did a great deal to ensure that we, the legal citizens of the United States, need to take action and actually brought the issue right to our doorstep. Whatever their real intent was, in my opinion, it had the opposite effect. It polarized law-abiding citizens against illegal aliens and drew great attention to the fact that our government has been screwing over American Citizens while giving illegal aliens and their supporters preferential treatment. It also underscored the fact that we have a 400-600% increase in illegal alien criminals residing in the United States and therefore a 400-600% increase (since the 1986 amnesty) in the possibility that terrorists reside in the country. Additionally, there is now a 400-600% increase in the possibility of identity theft (the fastest growing crime in the USA) and a similar increase in the dole and American citizens subsidizing illegal aliens who send their money back to their countries of origin.

When a citizen commits a crime, they go to jail, regardless of whether or not they have dependent children. Therefore, family separation is the norm and is expected. Why should illegal aliens be given preferential treatment for keeping their families together when they are law-breakers?

My idea of family unity for illegal aliens is -- go home and take your children with you. Let them register as immigrants in your country and see how they are treated. Better yet, let them stay in your country illegally and see how they are treated.

"Day without an Immigrant"? I say "yes"--send 'em home, build the fence!!!
That was move on dot org. A george soros commie group it was great no ilegals on the roads no traffic everything was great no lines everything worked again. We need 20 years without Ilegals then 30 Lets deport the girly man arnold .Bush is a traitor a lame duck loser.
I say oh please by all means, march. More eyes are opened, with each march. For some, its the only way they see just how big the problem is.
Are these people being used? If so they are willing participants. They want special privileges whether they are entitled to them or not. Of course it's probably our own government (and Mexico's) and corporations who are pushing for this. Apparently they didn't get the message last year. But it seems that many illegals did. And it will be worse for the ones who participate this year. And for the businesses that support them. No amnesty and deport all illegals. No more citizenship to children of illegals. Fines and jail time for employers of illegals.

This day has nothing to do with legal immigration or illegals who are not hispanic. They should change the name of this protest to A Day Without Illegal Invaders.
"Day without an Immigrant"? I say "yes"--send 'em home, build the fence!!!
totally agree with roxi!
I think that last years "day without an immigrant" was one of the best things to happen to the rest of us, especially here in So California, and other places which have been over-run by illegal aliens.
The freeways had light traffic the drive to work was a breeze; no salespeople were speaking to us in spanish; no mexican cucaracha music blasting everywhere; we went shopping and there were no big groups of mexican families with their too-many kids running wild, ripping merchandise they had not paid for off the shelfs throwing it into the isles everywhere like they normally to; nobody pushing in front on you in line, then giving you a nasty look and making some rude comment in spanish; nobody littering our streets; no baby-stroller mamas with too-many kids walking thru the gutters like they normally do; no men on bicycles on the wrong side of the road and on the sidewalks not obeying any of the bicycle rider laws; no spanish speaking mexicans knocking on the door asking for money like they do every day...... all in all, it was wonderful. I wish they would all go away forever.
We will never forget the pictures of millions of mexicans in our streets carrying mexican flags, so disrespectful to our nation.
I will never forget the things I heard those demonstrators say on TV, like how this land "belongs to mexico" and other garbage like that. Apalling!
Every march they have makes more people want to deport all illegal aliens.
So let them march. The minutemen will get millions more in donations the day after and thousands more US citizens will sign up as minutemen to protect this nation from any more illegal aliens coming here to destroy what we have left of what once was a great and wonderful country.
yes they are being used. illegals are marching for their rights when they are illegal is wrong. why don't our govt put a stop to it?
A day without a mexican immigrant? How about a millenia without illegal mexican immigrants? It's obvious who's pushing it. At a "rally" in LA Ted Kennedy was at the podium cheering the illegals on. The democrats want all the illegals here so they can get them registered to vote and put liberals in office at all levels of government. Are these illegals being used? Of course they are. Personally, I thought it was a great opportunity to round all of them up in buses, put them in C-130's, and ship their nasty arses back to chalupa land. Why is it that these people feel they can come here to America and protest, but not in their own country? If they don't like their corrupt leadership, then rally against it and overthrow it. Don't bring your problems and crime here- we have enough of our own.
LOL@Shoshone's answer. Ditto.

May 1st - "No Fast Food Day". That's a good day for shopping. I shopped heavily on that day last year. I hope they march every year (that is until they are deported), a once a month break from the meztiso congestion would be pleasant. I have since boycotted all the small businesses that were closed on that day. Especially the restaurants that were closed, could you imagine what they could be doing to your food?

As far as what I think about who is controlling or organizing the marches, I don't really have much concern. If the illegals are being used, that's their problem. The bigger issue of course is that illegals must be sent home. Now that some of their activists are against a second May 1st protest, I am interested in what other tactics they will use to further impose themselves upon Americans.
Let them march--It will allow the dumb American public to realize how bad the problem of illegal immigration has gotten. They see the massive crowds--those are all the jobs lost by American workers, the number of illegal children the American taxpayer is paying to educate, the number getting free medical, the number raising your real estate and income taxes to pay for it all--We have lost our country to illegals--it is time to take it back by boycotting all employers of illegals-- e.g. do not buy a new house, do not eat at their restaurants, do not shop at their stores, do not buy from any employer of illegals, boycott landlords who rent to them, but DO SOMETHING besides sitting on your bottom typing computer messages..
It didn't really work because the people actually participating were few compared to the total number of undocumented people in this country. If EVERYONE participated, then we would see results. Sure there were a few radicals on both sides there, but they do not have that much power.
