Could the LIBS actually agree with Ann Coulter for once?
Americans -- at least really stupid Americans like George Bush -- believe the natural state of the world is to have individual self-determination, human rights, the rule of law and a robust democratic economy. On this view, most of the existing world and almost all of world history is a freakish aberration.
In fact, the natural state of the world is Darfur. The freakish aberration is America and the rest of the Anglo-Saxon world.

Very interesting article, and I agree with most of it... Plus I am SO angry with Bush on this immigration bill that I actually agree with the "stupid" label. I'd like to believe he's just guilty of wishful thinking, but if it passes, the outcome of this bill will be too horrendous to ignore.

I think Ann is great. Sometimes a little harsh but she always sticks to her guns and tells it like it is. People don't like her because she speaks the truth unlike the people the left glorify such as Cindy Sheehan and Michael Moore. That said, I also agree with the stupid label for Bush on this whole immigration thing. But who am I? Just the tax payer who has to pay for it.

Frankly, I don't have something against Ann Coulter, I just don't really give a sh*t what she says. She's a pundit who makes money from her punditry, that's all, nothing more.
If she runs for office, or conversely, volunteers to go fight the war she's got a female hardon for...THEN I'll hate/admire her. Otherwise, I don't care. She's nothing to me.
Western countries need to put a hold on ANY more immigration, legal or illegal, until we can catch our breath and decide how this is going to forever change our way of life.
Immigration has always been difficult and assimilation just as hard, but the people emigrating were not aggressive, defiant, and full of hatred towards the country they so want to be a part of, like Ms. Glitterflip above. It needs to stop. These people need to know they can't just push their way into Western countries because WE LIVE BETTER than the countries they come from and still spew hatred towards those countries. Screw 'em.
Ignoring their bigotry is being an apologist for them.

Ms Coulter is my kind of woman. Strong, bright, easy to look at, easy to laugh with, a good friend to America, and VERY gritty..

You don’t have to worry about Congress passing the immigration bill because it will never happen – and the truth is that they do not want it to happen. Nothing will ever be done about immigration, so you might as well quit worrying about things that you will never see.
The beneficiaries of illegal immigration are: 1) the Mexican government and 2.) US business (which means the same thing as US government). As long as the governments want the current system, it will stay the current system –get used to it. Politicians only use the immigration issue to get votes and then they forget about it.
A wall will never be built, and if built it will not work. The Mexican-US border has the third most legal international trade in the world. Nothing will be done that will interfere with this trade. Therefore, any wall would come with pre-built holes. Besides, this is not the 15th century and walls are not realistic defense structures.
Also, forget doing anything about the immigrants already here. There are 20 million illegal immigrants in America. By comparison there are only 25 million Iraqis in all of Iraq, and 25% of them live in one city (Baghdad); and we can’t even control the road to the airport – let alone the city – let alone the 25 million Iraqis.
Following Katrina, there were 100,000 people, gathered together, who wanted us to get them out of New Orleans. We could not retrieve 100,000 when we knew where they were and they wanted to be found. How are we ever going to round up 20,000,000 that are spread out throughout America, and who do not want to be found? We are not – because we cannot.
There certainly are decisions we have to make, but every possible ‘solution’ mentioned so far is just political hypocrisy and a stupid waste of time, energy, and money.

It’s amazing. Twenty million people do not just accidentally wander in another country. They have not only been encouraged by casual attitudes; they are actively recruited by American businesses. Illegal immigrants do not just accidentally end up in the mid-west or southeastern United States (coyotes do not operate shuttles that provide door-to-door service).
Plus, the money immigrants send back to Mexico represents the third largest source of revenue for the Mexican economy. Without it, the Mexican economy – and government – would collapse. Then you would see a real invasion of people, tens of millions a year.
I live only an hour from the border. I’ll let you know when they storm the gates.

Ann is a strong opinionated woman ...if she were a lib spouting their thoughts the libs would accuse me of being afraid of a strong woman..but when THEY hate her its for other reasons..I have to agree with you on the President and his stance on immigration...I just don't know what he's thinking on that...I think it will lead to our kids and grand kids not growing up in an America that we had the privilege to grow up in.
As usual Coulter is correct. Much like the Roman empire was destroyed because of it's lack of a sane immigration policy, we are in the same spot now. What ticks liberals off about Coulter is the fact that she has learned that there is no up side to apologizing to a liberal, it makes you look weak, it makes you seem confused, and they will still hate you anyway.
Mexicans should go back to mexico if they are not american citizens. The guest worker program sounds like what they do in Dubai with the Indians, Bangladesh, and Pakastanis. America could benefit from guest workers, but not invaders that keep thier families here. This Amnesty bill would not be so bad if we could just get them to end ALL SOCIAL HANDOUTS (WIC, SS, School lunch and breakfast, and so many other tax dollar wasting things) Then, they would pay a fair tax and be able to contribute to this country. But as it is with Bilingual education and social benefits, it is impossible to get these people to assimilate as fast as possible. REFORM THE SYSTEM FIRST, AND THEN OPEN THE BORDER AND CONTROL ACCESS TO THOSE WE DON'T WANT IN (CRIMINALS, TERRORISTS).
