How fair is this new immigration policy put forth by the government?
What about all of those who have naturalized the RIGHT way? This new policy is kind of a slap in the face to those went about naturalizing the right way.

I heard everyone had to go back to there country, pay a $5000 fine and apply for amnesty or whatever. If this is true, I guess we will have to live with it.What I really think is they should all go back and we should close the borders. Gonzales said we should let in 500,000 a year. Is he out of his mind, we can't afford to take care of the U.S. citizens that belong here. I think this government is really out of touch with reality. Once all the people here have jobs and health insurance, we can talk about letting people immigrate to America. Until then give me a break, maybe we should move to .

My parents also came here as immigrants in the 1940's..What you forget to mention is that it was much easier back in the day..60 years ago, this country was seeking immigrants and for years now, decided to ignore the problem.Now its in crisis mode..You don't think this govt. bares any responsiblity?
It is total B.S.!!! How fair is to the American tax payers? I served ten tears in the military and spent two years in the sandbox. I've been paying taxes for these illegals for the past thirteen years and congress wants to forgive them for their crimes! Where is my get out of jail free card? It's hard to say how fair it is, since the bill has not even been finished. Nevertheless, the main outline is clear, and there is no fairness apparent.
Worse than the lack of fairness is the fact that it will be no solution. Bush and Congress are proposing another complicated, bureaucratic abomination that will cost this country dearly, even though it doesn't eliminate or mitigate any of the problems caused by the invasion of illegals. Remember how "well" FEMA handled the aftermath of Katrina? That's exactly how "well" this new proposal will handle the aftermath of the Mexican invasion.
The only good thing about this fiasco is that the American people are getting riled, and we're no longer going to stand by and watch our government sell our security just so a few companies can enjoy lower labor costs.

it's not fair to people like your grandparents. there are 2.7 million American vets who do not like nor want this new amnesty bill.
Nothing is, ever has been, or ever will be about fairness.
We don't live in true democracies because if we did politicians would have to put everything to a vote by the people, and they wouldn't be able to pass every piece of crap legislation they see fit.
They are probably arrogant enough to believe that they know what's best for us all anyway.
